Ciao/ Hello! I am a native speaking Italian from the Northern region of Italy. I have been teaching Italian since 2008 at levels ranging from beginner to advanced and to all ages. My lessons are fun, dynamic, and flexible. They are intended to develop speaking, listening, writing and reading skills and offer fun conversations on a variety of topics. Students learn the language through practical examples of daily life situations. Each lesson can be tailored to the students’ needs. I also tailor my lessons for students that want to learn the Italian language for traveling purposes. Learning a language goes hand in hand with understanding the culture. My lessons are focused on using the Italian culture to provide the setting that helps the students learn the language and feel comfortable and confident when speaking to native Italian speaking persons. I've been teaching Italian for 12 + years. I teach in school settings and also as a private tutor. I am very passionate about Italy and the Italian culture and I love to share it with my students. I’m proud to see when my students have gone to learn and love not only the language, but also the rich Italian culture. My work experience as an Italian instructor started in 2008 at the Italian Foundation, which is a non-profit organization founded in 1998 by the Italian government. In addition to teaching classes, I developed tests of proficiency for students, and built lesson plans with the use of specific activities in order to develop one of many skills in a language, such as conversation, listening, reading, or writing. I also taught at a Community College for Adult Education and at language schools. Each of these educational settings has given me the opportunity to learn, teach, and create new lesson plans in different institutional environments. I am continually utilizing a wide range of teaching techniques, methods, and classroom management to reach students’ minds I travel to Italy every summer for a period of 4- 6 weeks in order to retain my cultural ties, further educate my bilingual children, and keep abreast of issues in politics, fashion, film, music, and entertainment.
