Oboe with Clare M.

(pronouns: she/her) I am a professional oboist and reed maker. I graduated from Furman University with a Bachelor of Music in Oboe and received a Master of Music in Oboe at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. I have been teaching private lessons for 5 years and I currently sell 30-40 oboe reeds a month. I am happy to sell reeds to my students and help them learn to make their own. I teach oboe students of all ages and proficiencies. I believe music should be fun, whether pursued as a career or a hobby. I help students release tension and facilitate ease in playing in order to find that fun. In addition to oboe, I am studying yoga and the Alexander Technique. I plan to become certified in both in the coming years. Regardless of your goals with the oboe, I will help you develop a solid foundation to become a versatile player. I believe that musicality can be taught as well as technique and will work with you to create a routine that best fits your aspirations as an oboist. I look forward to meeting you!
