Hello future student! My name is Christin. I am a licensed teacher for grades 4-9 in Science and English Language Arts. I have worked with all levels of students from preschool to college in various educational settings, which includes teaching 7th and 8th grades for five years. I have also worked at a University instructing and tutoring students on academic success skills. My favorite part about tutoring is helping students overcome challenges and become successful. What students can expect from me is a patient, professional and motivating tutor. The most effective way that I have found to motivate students to learn is to make content meaningful and applicable to each student's life. I also believe it can be more important to help students build confidence in what they know over the amount of information that they know. Therefore, I move through the content step by step and value creating a solid foundation of understanding for each student. I build high expectations for the service I provide and believe that is the most important indicator for success of the student.
