But you have to be ready to work! ***In Home Equipment*** 1) Lesson Books/Material Recommended by teacher 2) Piano or keyboard with functional sustain/damper petal attachment 3) Seating for parents ***My Experience & Education*** I am a professional gospel singer, pianist, and clarinetist. I graduated from Reinhardt University with a Bachelors of Music Education and Music Performance degree, specifically instrumental and vocal. Throughout my collegiate studies, I had the incredible opportunity to perform nationally and internationally as a classically trained musician. I was a full time Music Director in a private school teaching K-12 General Music, Beginning and Intermediate Band, an A Cappella Voice Ensemble, and Drum Line. I also continued education at River University and graduated with a Bachelors of Art in Music Ministry degree. ***Reasons to take Clarinet Lessons with me*** I have been an active musician playing the clarinet for 17+ years. Throughout my educational experience, I participated in performing ensembles, marching band (as well as Drum Major), pit orchestras, symphony orchestras, wind ensembles, wind quartets/quintets, and traveled to Italy to perform with the Italian Navy Band twice. I have developed a wide repertoire of instrumental music for clarinetists of all levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced). Techniques such as breathing, pitch, tone, posture, hand position/placement, scales, articulation, artistry, and stage presence will be practiced. ***Reasons to take Voice Lessons with me*** I have been an active vocalist for 8+ years and had the incredible opportunity to perform in Carnegie Hall with my University Choir. Voice students can expect to improve weekly in their vocal technique, artistic ability, and vocal strength. Techniques such as breathing, diction, pitch, tone, posture, smoothness, and stage presence will be practiced. I specialize in Gospel Singing as well as General Singing by teaching students to apply foundational techniques and using unique vocal exercises that help them unlock their own individual sound. I can help any student to sing with freedom, confidence, and expression. ***Reasons to take Piano Lessons with me*** I teach piano students of all different ages and cater to beginner and intermediate levels. I studied piano during and after college for 10+ years. Techniques such as posture, hand position/placement, smoothness, scales, articulation, artistry, and stage presence will be practiced. I can teach students to read music and pursue classical excellence, to learn how to play contemporary music using chord charts, or both depending on the goals and preference of the student. My personal passion is Gospel and Classical music but I firmly believe that great technique is essential to any and every style. Music Education impacted my life for the best and resulted in me having the incredible opportunity to share this gift of music with others!
