My first piano lessons began at a young age, and I have been playing ever since. I have performed in recitals and talent shows, and have played for church services throughout my life. I received an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Anderson University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education at Central Michigan University. After teaching Preschool, and then K-12 music in public and private schools, as well as K-4 classroom teaching, I have now retired. I began teaching private piano before college, and have continued in my own studio, as well as in the students' homes. For the past two and a half years I have taught online, and this is now my primary teaching platform. I have taught children as young as 3 years of age with happy success, through seniors, also with happy success. I enjoy working with beginners, but have taught all levels through advanced. My students have performed in recitals, school and church performances, and one even played for tourists at a castle in Europe. So whether you want to play on the concert stage, for church, your family or just yourself, I can help you reach your goals of playing and enjoying music. While you will learn music theory and technic, I am open to working with you in the styles of your choice. Classical to rock, folk, country, hymns to jazz, I love music of all styles.
