Songwriting with Ben H.

I am a songwriter, singer, guitarist, producer, and touring musician in the NYC art rock band BODEGA. I hope to enable students to express themselves authentically through song and/or guitar. Songwriting students can expect to weekly work through their own artistic voice through writing their own songs as well as learning and studying the songs of their favorite artists. I teach lyric-writing, song form, and arrangement all with the goal of allowing the student's voice to shine forth. Guitar students can expect a two-pronged approach: 1. Developing a repertoire of fun songs/ideas to play and 2. Simultaneous study of music theory and technique. Students who enjoy the 'why' as much as the 'how' should greatly benefit from my style of teaching. My passion is rock music (Beatles, Dylan, punk, and 'alternative') but I believe a great song is more important than any particular genre. I look forward to meeting you and helping you express yourself through song.
