I teach cajon, congas, djembe, bongo, timbales, frame drum, and much more to students of all experience levels. I have traveled extensively to learn percussion in Africa and Latin America, and was able to perform and record with my teachers there. I can teach you how to get great sounds out of almost any object - that's what a percussionist does! In addition to world percussion, I have lots of experience in classical percussion for orchestra and band, and in mallet percussion. I performed orchestral and contemporary classical music on marimba, xylophone, vibraphone, and glockenspiel during my undergraduate degree, and studied Jazz vibraphone with Stefon Harris during my Masters degree. I start with learning songs, drum beats, and chord progressions and get to technique and music reading AFTER we have had some fun.
