"Edwin is top notch
Edwin has been teaching my son Ethan guitar for about a year and have nothing but great things to say! My son looks forward to every l
esson and it's amazing how much he's progressed. Edwin is so patient and really make the lessons fun by using real songs that my son knows and enjoys playing while mixing in skill practice. He communicates very well and couldn't be more dependable. He has our highest recommendation!"

"I have been taking lessons with Ms. Lena for about 2 months and have been very pleased! I knew how to play the piano a bit before, but had never formally
taken lessons, and Ms. Lena has been patiently showing me many things I would not have figured out on my own. She is knowledgeable, and excellent at giving pointers for what to work on in the coming week. It's been a great experience!"

Thank you for teaching me how to play the guitar. I learned how to play a song and it was really fun because I had no experience at all."

"My main regret is that I did not start with him when I was much younger!
I have had the pleasure of lessons from Jesse Horner for two years. I started wh
en I was 73 years old and never had any music training before, so I started from scratch. Jesse has been great in guiding me in the direction I seemed to want to go. With almost 40 years experience, I think Jesse has experience and knowledge of every aspect of music theory, guitars and guitar playing(also Ukuleles). He makes the lessons enjoyable and is very flexible and understanding in his teaching process. My main regret is that I did not start with him when I was much younger!

"Spiros is great! I've been taking bass lessons from him for a couple of years now and thanks to him, I can actually play now! He's a good teacher, teachin
g both elements of theory and also how to get the "feel" of music, and he's also fun to be around. I can say that without his lessons and the music he's sent me, I would not be nearly as good as I am today, nor as motivated to learn more."

"I started taking guitar lessons with Lou only 4 months ago and I already know how to play songs, read chords and play rhythm patterns. One of my desires w
as to play guitar in my life and now I can. Lou makes the lessons tailored around my personal needs but at the same time keeps me learning new things to apply to my own artists I enjoy listening too the most. You will learn a lot and he makes it fun at the same time.
So you want to play an instrument? Well I have taught for over 40 years and have developed special programs for you on piano, guitar, bass, voice and other instruments for you to learn. From easy beginner to the most advanced, I will help you to learn the songs you love! Whether we use the most modern technology in my professional recording studio or just some chords or perhaps learning to sight read something for a talent show, I can take you all the way to the highest performance level. Your goals are my goals. I have studied with some of the most famous teachers in the world, includi
ng Charlie Parker's pianist Walter Bishop Jr. and Dizzy Gillespie's musical director Mike Longo, among many others. I also have the experience of over 400 gigs a year to bring to your lesson. I have performed on piano, guitar and bass and vocals with famous stars and some really great bands which will help me answer many of your questions. I am currently still working, teaching and recording all the time. I also have a professional recording studio in my home which you can take full advantage of.
*** Lesson Details *** I want you to have fun learning and can help you with understanding and memorizing your songs. I focus on sight-reading, ear training (like jamming and playing blues) and theory. You get to choose the areas you would like to learn. Once we have established the basics including melody and chords, we will pick songs you want to learn to play with your friends or just by yourself. We can use music books or go on YouTube to learn your songs. I have helped students with auditions as well as performances. After only a few lessons you will hear and see things differently than ever before.
*** Studio Equipment *** My studio comes complete with acoustic and electric keyboards, acoustic and electric guitars, electric bass and amps to play through, as well as professional microphones for recording. I use ProTools for recording which is used in every major studio around the world and it's loaded with great software for demos or mastering songs.
*** Specialties *** I teach beginner, intermediate and advanced students. I teach all styles of music including Classical, Jazz, and Rock/Pop/Blues. I also teach songwriting, performing and recording in my ProTools studio.

First of all, he is very thorough. Cory is always thinking outside the box, brings new ideas to the table! He is not only a teacher, but a musician performer as well. When he teaches, he implements performance and teaches not only to play the instrument but to sound good. He is personable and direct. He is also very tolerant regardless of my blindness. I've had other instructors, and by far, Cory is the best!

i was so stressed out as my son, a musician, asked me to sing with him at his wedding. yikes!! Boy, did I luck out when I randomly picked Cory for some quick singing lessons. He was so encouraging and helpful!! By the end of 5 lessons we made a recording of the song I am to sing. Well it looks like I won't humiliate myself or family. It was really amazing. He has incredible "in studio"effects and easily transferred the song to a key I could practice and actually "sing." I haven't "performed" yet (next week) but I am looking forward to it, thanks to Cory. Everyone should have at least "one" song that they can pull off for special events. Totally worth it!! Thanks to Cory I have mine...now if I could only learn to "shake my groove thang."

Cory is an excellent teacher. His lessons are a blast. He's done a great job of assessing my existing musical knowledge and goals for learning the harmonica, and customizing the lessons to allow me to learn quickly (as well as improve my grasp of theory in a fun and practical way).
I'd highly recommend him for anyone considering harmonica lessons (or lessons with one of the many other instruments he teaches).
Hello! Thank you for your interest in taking guitar/piano/music lessons.
I am a professional teacher/studio musician/performer/producer with over 17 years of private teaching experience and a graduate of the University of Miami Studio Music and Jazz program in 2002 specializing in the guitar.
I am available to teach guitar(acoustic, electric, classical) for all levels, ages, and styles(pop to folk, rock to soul, world to classical) in English, Spanish and Japanese.
Other subjects taught include bass guitar, piano/keyboard, ukulele, banjo, mandolin, harmonium, classical percussion, mu
sic theory, composition(all styles from pop to classical), ear training, and studio production/engineering/mixing.
Born in Cali, Colombia on April 1979, I began my musical endeavors studying the piano at the age of 6. Early on I had the opportunity to play percussion in the school symphony while at the same time developed an intense interest in the instrument that would become my true love, the guitar.
During 1996-98 I studied jazz guitar at the New World School of the Arts music program under the direction of J.B. Dyas and Dr. Roby George. Upon graduation, I was immediately accepted to the University of Miami jazz guitar program under the direction of Randall Dollahan. It was during this time that I also refined my skills as a classical guitarist and as a composer/arranger. In addition, I began passing my knowledge onto friends and eventually began working as a teacher.
My ability to play almost any genre of music is the fruit of past experience playing with an impressive variety of music groups, including jazz combos, symphony orchestras, Andean world music ensembles, and several rock and pop groups as well. As a studio guitarist I have recorded for various artists including Jaci Velasquez, Carlos Ponce, Alexandre Pires, and Noelia.

Every one of you is unique and there are many possible paths to reach your goals in music.
With my background and music industry experience, I am able to customize my lessons for you so that you can reach your desired goals. We will take some time to find out where your passion lies in music and I will use my experience and knowledge to create a customized lesson-plan that will allow us to focus on reaching your desired goals and at the same time maintain a well rounded music education.
I find this to be key in making the lessons and your practice sessions very enjoyable, fun and laid back - knowing that everything we practice, play and talk about is in line with your goals as a student.
I will also be playing along with you and demonstrating everything that we're working on - music is meant to be shared and played with others and it is important to have that experience of interaction from early on in your lessons.
So whether it's learning to accompany yourself or others, write songs, read music, understand harmony, solo, or just jam out to your favorite songs, you will be well on your way to reaching your goals within 6 months of my lessons.

Edwin is amazing. My 5 year old is pretty distracted and stubborn. Edwin made the lesson very fun for him and he actually learned a lot in the short lesson. He was very patient. He taught him not only the instrument itself but started teaching him some rhythm and music theory as well. As soon as my son matures a little more and is ready for lessons we will definitely pick Edwin!

He was really patient with my reluctant 5 year old. He was happy to play special songs for him to get him interested in the instrument and the lesson.

Bryan is a lifelong student trained in both Contemporary and Classical methodology. Bryan's extensive education paired with his passion for music make him the perfect teacher for any student. Bryan's love for music started at a young age. He began taking private guitar lessons at the age of 10 learning the basics. This knowledge has served as the basis for all of his musical training as it provided a strong backbone of fundamental skills to build upon. Graduating from the University of Oregon in 2005, he practiced and perfected the classical approach to music. Bryan's education continued at th
e Musicians Institute based in the music capital of the world, Los Angeles. Here he diversified his music skills with vigorous training in the contemporary study of music. This contrast allows Bryan to teach everything from Rock n' Roll to Beethoven!
Bryan Specializes in the guitar and Bass Guitar; however, he is proficient in piano and drums as well. His interests range from simply perfecting the art of guitar playing, to composing modern music for entire bands. Additionally, Bryan's expertise extends into the technological side of recording and producing music. I highly recommend Bryan
If you are looking for guitar lessons then Bryan is your guy. I have been taking lessons from him for 6 months now and had no experience prior. I have learned a lot from him and not just about playing a guitar but music in general. I highly recommend Bryan.

Bryan has been a very helpful, knowledgeable and flexible guitar teacher. He uses my interests and questions to drive lesson content. I find personally that understanding the music theory behind what I'm learning to play is very helpful, so we've spent a lot of time breaking things down. He's very knowledgeable. He also does a good job of explaining how he uses his intuition as a guitar player and musician, which helps me develop intuition of my own.I would definitely recommend Bryan!

Bryan is doing a fabulous job with my son, Jensen. Jensen has really taken to the guitar and he is learning quite a bit. He looks forward to his lesson each week. I highly recommend Bryan, who is very nice, knowledgeable and fun.

Mauricio has been a perfect fit as a guitar teacher for my ten year old son who, until meeting Mauricio, was totally apathetic about learning an instrument. The list of discared wood winds, strings, & percussion is long... Now my kiddo looks forward to his lessons because of Mauricio. He practices (during the week!!!), and he walks away from his time with Mauricio with the kind of happy grin on his face typically reserved for video games and nachos. Mauricio is ever punctual, solicitous, accommodating, friendly, and kind. We feel very lucky to have him in our lives and couldn't recommend him more highly to others.

My mother hired Mauricio through Take lessons for my 9 year old son. He absolutely progressed every time he saw Mauricio, and had a wonderful time learning and playing with him. He has great technique and a wonderful way of communicating. Thumbs up!!!

Mauricio is a very patient guitar instructor. The instruction my daughter received was her first experience playing any instrument. Her enthusiasm for each lesson was a reflection of Mauricio's enthusiasm to teach. Music is his passion and it was clear to me that his enthusiasm for music was evident in his instruction.

Songwriting is not easy; just ask any composer or lyricist. While the musical composition is highly important (making sure the melody is catchy without sounding too trite), having a strong, relatable message to go along with a great tune is just as, if not more, important. Master Ukulele Chords: Your Guide to D, Dm, and D7
For many beginners, the D chord will be one of the first ukulele chords you learn how to play. However, you may not learn at first that the D chord can be played in several different positions, and in variations such as D minor (notated as Dm) and D seventh (notated as D7).
Choosing the best position to play a particular chord during a song depends on its proximity to other chords in the song and the sound you want to achieve. When you are making chord changes, it always helps to choose the f
