Passionate about sharing my love of the guitar with students of all ages, I've been teaching for more than 30 years. A trained Flamenco guitarist, I found, at the tender age of 7, my passion when I heard the world-renowned Flamenco guitarist Sabicas. Studying Flamenco since then, I began, during my teens, performing professionally and have had the honor of performing with such nationally known musicians as Billy Bang (legendary fiddle player), Willy Calhoun (Living Colour), Vassar Clements Band, Tom Chapin, Stanley Jordan, Buddy Miles, and Michael Powers. I've been teaching flamenco for 1 year and my students have gone on to study it in college. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to play the basic rhythms and melodies and as time goes on you'll be able to play complex melodies and arpeggios as well as improvise over any chords you learn. I specialize anything related to Paco de Lucia, typically using sheet music, and have the following tools available for your lessons: sheet music and a lot of musical motifs. Stefano A. has been playing the guitar for 7 years, both electric and classical. He has studied classical style with Mr. Frasche from Passaic Valley High School in Little Falls and Chris Messina, a NJCU alumnus.A sophomore at NJCU, his current teachers are João Luiz Rezende Lopez for solo guitar and Ana Maria Rosado for ensemble. Stefano performed with the NJCU Guitar Ensemble at the 2014 College Guitar Ensemble Showcase at the Guitar Foundation of America Regional Symposium in New York City and most recently at Bayonne High School.
