I am so grateful to Andrea....

I have always loved to sing, and sang in several choirs when I was younger. But I had "lost" my voice, and wanted to see if I could recover it. Andrea was wonderful in working with me: I was barely able to release any sound when we started our lessons. Within weeks, Andrea helped me discover how to form the vowels and release the sound. [I have moved out of state, so Andrea only had a limited time to work with me.]

She is passionate about music, and yet very patient with her students. She did not patronize me with false praise when I wasn't getting it, but she still encouraged me. And when I did get it, she was quick to affirm my progress. I strongly recommend Andrea as a voice teacher.

Andrea, an excellent teacher!

Andrea is a wonderful teacher, being able to connect with my daughter Julia who is 11 months. She is very keep on learning and exploring through play, and is creating a sense of inquiry in Julia that is just beautiful to see! Simply an excellent teacher. I strongly recommend Andrea!

Andrea is a great voice teacher

I started taking opera lessons with Andrea this summer and I absolutely adore her teaching style. She not only has the education level and teaching experience to help you reach your potential, but she is very easy going and extremely comfortable to be around! With me, she zoned into my weaknesses and was able to make me aware of what I need to work on and from there I was able to make improvements. I would definitely recommend Andrea because she is an awesome voice teacher!!

I started taking voice lessons from Jamie kind of on a whim- I had always wanted to learn to sing but I was nervous and kind of shy about it. Right away Jamie made me feel comfortable. He is very encouraging and gives criticism in a positive way. It is obvious that he really loves music and is knowledgeable about many different genres. I love that he focuses on theory and technique- as a beginner these are the lessons that I was looking for. After five lessons I already hear a big difference in my range and my vocal strength as well as my confidence, and I am sure that as I progress he will continue to challenge me. I highly recommend him.

Jamie is an excellent voice teacher. I have learned a lot in the few months I've been taking lessons with him, and feel a lot more confident in my singing. My range and my knowledge of music have definitely improved. At each lesson you do a vocal warm up, go over music theory concepts, and then work on a song. I would definitely recommend Jamie; you will improve and have fun doing it!

Jamie has been my voice teacher for almost three years. I have enjoyed working with him on a variety of different songs and musical styles. He always has fun, sometimes challenging warm-ups for me to do at the beginning of each lesson. During the lesson, he is very good at helping me find better or easier ways to sing certain notes or phrases. He has a good ear and can tell if I'm singing something in an inefficient or incorrect way. When he offers me corrections or suggestions for ways to improve my singing, he does it in a way that is easy to understand and doesn't make me feel incompetent.
I feel that my singing has improved quite a bit during the time I have been working with Jamie. And as my voice improves, so does my confidence. I always look forward to my next lesson to measure my progress and to see what new things I might learn.

I am originally from Northeast Kansas, where I started playing guitar and studying music at the age of 9. While studying guitar, I had several influential teachers, including internationally renowned finger-style guitarist, Andy McKee, and University of Montana Professor of Music and Classical Guitar, Dr. Luis Millan. Later, in my teens, I also began playing the Banjo, Mandolin, accordion, and other various instruments. While attending college at Washburn University in Topeka, KS, I began teaching private music lessons to students of all ages, and experience levels in Northeast Kansas. During this time, I also recorded and regularly performed with my bluegrass/country/cajun band. I have experience playing and teaching numerous genres including rock, pop, country, blues, jazz, ...

About Evan

I have been playing lead guitar since 2004 (bass guitar and drums since 2006) and have invested my life into the creative process. Over the said amount of time, I have been applying my technique to genres such as heavy metal, jazz, blues, funk, classical, and anything in between. I have written over 30 original works which include guitar, bass, drum, and vocal scores. Once the work is completed, I would proceed to creatively construct in a one-on-one or group scenario. I have also been student teacher and guitarist for the Standley Lake High School jazz band. The jazz band at Standley Lake regularly played clinics in which professional jazz musician's would critique the group on a particular set. This would include breaking it down to the single musician's parts and pin pointing strengths

I have been taking bass lessons here for while and I would recommend to anyone who is interested in playing Rock and Metal music. Both John and Brent are fantastic teachers who have a lot of talent and a lot of knowledge to share. Both are willing to teach not only theory but any song that the student wants to learn. They show that they care about whether or not students learn. I have never seen two people more passionate about music. I wouldn't recommend going anywhere else.

I have been taking lessons here for over a year and find Dr. John to be extremely knowledgeable, reliable/professional (has never been late or asked me to reschedule), and fun. I did not have much experience coming in; the process for me has been that Dr. J creates multiple lessons (usu. 4-12 measures long before repeats) on the spot that we go over to reinforce a skill or technique that I need to work on, or we work on a rock song that I pick out. This approach is very tailored to my questions, trouble spots, and schedule.

John Dr. Hot Licks Taylor has proven to be a great instructor for me. I had developed some bad habits from poor instruction in the past, and John showed me how to correct them, and as a result, my playing has improved. I would recommend John Taylor to anyone looking for a great and knowledgeable guitar teacher.

Caitlyn is a wonderful Flute teacher and her music education/experience/awards are very impressive. My 10 yr. old daughter had switched instruments many times before she started Flute lessons with Caitlyn and has finally found her interest! Thanks to the teacher to make it interesting for my daughter and help her discover her instrument. Caitlyn is a very friendly, enthusiastic and great teacher to work with. I would definitely recommend Caitlyn for anybody!
