Daniel A. Schaumburg, IL

About Daniel

In addition to teaching music, I am also a special education assistant and wrestling/track coach at Lake Zurich Middle School South and an assistant Kung Fu/Tai Chi instructor at Green Mountain Arts in Logan Square, Chicago, Illinois. Jazz piano, Voice, and Composition are my main areas of expertise. However, I have also been recording, and playing guitar almost my entire life. I fully believe in music education not only for entertainment and personal enjoyment, but for many other means. Beyond its capacity for being used as entertainment, music aids in learning, helps develop advanced motor skills, increases memory function, and many other purposes for a well rounded education. It is my goal to help educate the next generation in traditional music practices as well as incorporate new ...

Daniel is awesome!! He really knows how to customize the lesson to your skill level and makes it so that it's easy to learn. I'm already memorizing and learning things that I didn't think I would be able to. I'm really enjoying my lessons and so glad that I signed up. Looking forward to many more lessons from Daniel!

Daniel is a highly skilled piano teacher.

I have been very impressed with Daniel's instruction abilities - he is patient, tuned-in to whether or not I 'get it', and has opened the door to a whole new way to re-learn piano for personal enjoyment.
Alysia R. Glenview, IL

About Alysia

Having taught piano and flute lessons for over 12 years in the North Shore. I have had the pleasure of working with students of all ages (3 - adult), both beginner and advanced. I enjoy teaching students the "classical music" repertoire. I also strive to give my students a solid foundation in music theory and history in order for them to truly understand and appreciate the roots and structure of the music. In addition, I want my students to really love playing music and so I strongly encourage my students to also learn to play music outside of the classical repertoire. I believe balance is key, so I generally teach students to play classical music as well as music from other genres (such as film music, pop music, video game music, holiday music etc). *** Lesson Details *** Each ...

Paul W. Chicago, IL

About Paul

I have played the guitar for twenty years and have studied a wide variety of music including jazz, classical, folk, blues and rock. I’m skilled in acoustic, electric and classical styles of the guitar. I have an open mind about music and can appreciate any style or type. I have a firm background on music theory, so I am able to explain what I am teaching. I excelled in all my classes in college, music and Gen Eds, with a GPA over 3.75. I also have experience in teaching guitar or bass to students ranging from the ages of six to sixty six. I enjoy taking what I have learned and passing it on to someone else to experience. I believe this is one way you can leave your mark in music. I believe the experience I have playing in bands, and learning songs with my ability of having relative ...

I was an intermediate guitarist before I started working with Paul. I felt as though I was stuck and needed some help before I could get to the next level. Its been over two months and Paul has showed me a whole new approach to the guitar. These new techniques to playing have really opened my eyes and now I play with a sense of purpose and flow instead of just cord progressions. I can't wait to see my progress into the future. Thanks Paul

I've had 3 classes so far and Paul has been really patient. As I'm new to learning the guitar, it's nice to have someone who is understanding and moves at a comfortable pace. He also gives good advice on practice techniques! Definitely give him a go!

Joseph M. Skokie, IL

About Joseph

My Story: As a guitarist in my early years I spent much time reworking my technique and gaining insight in how guitar playing really works. My early struggles gave way to a solid knowledge of the guitar and music. This was gained through no small part through my High School music teacher, through master classes of Manuel Lopez Ramos and Abel Carlevaro and others. These master classes helped me in a big way to develop teaching systems and principles that can help anyone to learn guitar easier and more effectively. You will gain from the knowledge of these world class guitarists and teachers which will help you to play better and more musical. And from my musical background-of playing hundreds of songs ...

Voytek is unbelievably positive and flexible. I've been working with him for about 6 months, and he started me off with a great set of lessons and materials that was right for me. He always focuses on what I do well, so I want keep playing, even when things get hard. When he points out something to work on, he somehow comes across positive - more like a helpful suggestion than a critique. Voytek has been knowledgable and flexible when I want to focus on music theory or just play songs that I like. I continue to work with him and would hire him for other types of lessons.
