Andrea Z.

Denver, CO

I have been teaching singing for 4 years and my students vary from amateurs to artists who prepare for auditions and take part in performances. Within the first few lessons, we will learn to increase the attentiveness of our hearing and gain firmness of tone (primarily by means of this very constantly attentive, governing hearing). As we advance, we will gradually gain knowledge of the instrument (your body) by means of easy exercises. The tools are very simple and very few. The center of the process is the effort of your attentiveness and your imagination.
I specialize in opera, but have helped singers from every walk of the art. Singer-songwriter students have been greatly supported by my composition background.
We typically start by those difficulties that most concern you about your singing. Students of all ages and experience levels are welcome.

Jamie is AMAZING!!! We love him. He has been working with my daughter over the past year preparing her for auditions with DSA. The transformation in her singing voice is nothing shy of remarkable. She has always had a very pretty voice but now it is coupled with good voice control, projection, and everything that makes it go from aw, that's so nice, to WOW. Not only has his lessons helped with her singing, but he is very knowledgeable on all aspects of music, and has taught her sight reading, solfege, counting and rhythm, and all other aspects of music theory. Since we are auditioning with DSA, he also took it on himself to look up all the audition requirements and has been working with my daughter towards her audition. In addition to all technical stuff, he's very professional and great with my daughter. Has always been present on time, good with communication, and very patient with us. I've talked a lot about my experience with my child, but I do also think he is good with people of all ages. I've heard adults that have come before or after us in lessons and they sound great...there was a woman that was singing in another language and he was working with her on it! He truly is a great find. If you want to improve your voice and learn how to be a true vocal artist, he's your guy.

I will help you prepare and accomplish your vocal dreams!

About Amber

Growing up in Denver, I had a huge desire for singing and performing. By age 14, I was taking weekly singing & piano lessons, was acting constantly in local productions-many times getting the lead role.
Some of the productions I acted in: The Wizard of Oz (Dorothy), Camelot, Anything Goes (Reno Sweeney), How to Succeed in Business (Smitty), Carousel, Oklahoma, Les Miserables, and Oliver (Nancy.)
I received a 4-year scholarship to the Conservatory of Music in Stockton, CA. at the University of the Pacific. Upon graduation, I entered graduate school at the University of North Texas to con
tinue my singing and piano studies, along with music theory, history, and musical video production.
Upon graduating UNT, I was chosen among 200 performing arts majors to be the featured soloist at the UNT commencement ceremonies. This led to an offer to tour Italy with the Rome Festival Orchestra. For the next two summers I performed in Copenhagen, Istanbul, Rome and Berlin with the Berlin Philharmonic.

I just can't say enough about Ms. Amber, but I'll try. Her depth of experience in music pours from her so effortlessly and lovingly. She is a constant stream of encouragement, praise, reinforcement, and discipline throughout my daughters 45 minute voice and violin lesson. It is such a pleasure to hear her stories of past and present music experiences that span the globe. Ms. Amber is the quintessential music instructor and we are so glad to know her!
