He is a very nice guy and a great teacher. I wish I could continue, but I hope to eventually start back up again with Brian.

Brian inspired first my daughter and then my son to really love playing the piano. They were really proud of their accomplishments and were able to show it off at various recitals that Brian organized. We were very sorry to see him move from Chicago! He's easy going, relatable and cares a lot about the kids. I'd highly recommend.

I couldn't have asked for a better teacher. Brian was able to take me from not playing the sax in 10 years to playing in front of 200 people at my wedding in 6-7 sessions. I'd highly recommend him to anyone looking for lessons.

Michael H.

Lewisville, TX

About Michael

Along with being a songwriter, performer, and recording artist, I have over 30 years of teaching electric and acoustic guitar in all styles and levels, specializing in rock. We can focus on technique, reading music in standard or tablature, music theory, improvisation, or simply learning your favorite songs. The bottom line is making sure you meet your musical goals!

*** Lesson Details ***
I will begin your lessons by pinpointing exactly what you wish to focus on, then devise an organized plan so that we can maximize our progress. It's all about YOU!

*** Studio Equipment ***
I always h
ave an amp in my teaching studio (although it's not mandatory that you play through it), and extra guitars if you're not able to bring yours. I can also play CDs or mp3s on the spot to learn your favorite songs, and I have complete and accurate tablature to thousands of songs, all alphabetized!

*** Specialties ***
I excel in teaching technique - specifically alternate picking for speed and sweep picking for arpeggios - I can definitely help you reach your maximum potential on these techniques, among others. I also excel in the repertoire of acoustic and electric rock songs that I can teach you. I am patient as well. We can progress at your level.

Michael is an encyclopedia when it comes to guitar. We are working on theory, and he just knows it from A to Z. He is patient. Explains every detail when I ask for the minutiae. He inquired what I wanted to learn, and he formed my lessons around my goals. But it has an organic feel in that what i initially wanted has changed as I understand more. He moves in that flow and adjusts our target in lessons.

But what is most important is he is not an adversary when it comes to lessons. In the past I have taken lessons and it was the instructor's way or no way at all. Michael's lessons are like hanging out with a friend who is a great guitarist that is willing to share his knowledge.

I look forward to lessons.

Marisa brings a ton of real life drumming experience to the table. She understands fully that the student's time is valuable, and limited. She will construct a lesson plan that revolves around your musical interests, whether it be learning your favorite rock groove, or the music theory behind the music.

I took lessons with Marisa for over a year, and I feel it was great money and time spent! I was a complete novice when starting my lessons with Marisa, so she took a holistic approach covering fun groove patterns, musical theory, and technique.

If you're interested in learning how to play the drums, or already a capable drummer in need of someone to challenge your abilities I would strongly suggest getting Marisa on board with your training!
