Jordan was born and raised in the El Centro, California where he began playing the alto sax in the elementary band program. At the age of 12, he began his study of guitar and drums, performing in several rock and ska bands around his home town and San Diego. At a
ge 14, is where he found his love for brass instruments when he took up the trombone. While in high school he became a featured soloist with the Imperial Valley College Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of the legendary trumpeter Jimmy Cannon. It was this that lead Jordan to accept the Constance Weldon Music Scholarship to attend the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL.
While performing in South Florida Jordan appeared with major acts including 10,000 Maniacs, and appeared on the Spanish television show "Calle Ocho." He also gained invaluable experience teaching in Miami public schools. His first teaching assignment was at Hialeah-Miami Lakes Senior High School where he directed 3 beginning bands, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, and their highly decorated Jazz Band. Later Jordan moved into the elementary setting, teaching vocal and instrumental music for grades K-5 at Cypress Elementary.
In 2007, Jordan returned to California to pursue a music career in San Diego. He can be seen performing all over San Diego, Orange, and LA Counties in styles ranging from rock, jazz, funk, blues, hip-hop, Latin, and more. He performs primarily on trombone, piano, and guitar, but is known to pick up percussion, harmonica, and other wind instruments as well. Jordan, along with the rest of the aggressively funky cover band SuperMagnetic, were the grand prize winner of the 2010 Viejas Ultimate Music Challenge 4. In 2011, Tori Roze & The Hot Mess were nominated for a San Diego Music Award in the category of "Best Blues Artist" after the release of their first album "From The Hip." They released their second album "Turbulence" last December, and are heard regularly on local San Diego radio. This album has also been nominated for Best Pop album for the 2013 San Diego Music Awards. This spring, Jordan completed his Master of Music degree in Jazz Studies from San Diego State University.
On stage, Jordan is a talented and versatile performer. He is known for his trombone sound and improvisational ability, as well as his positive relationship with his fellow musicians. In lessons, Jordan is energetic and creative.

Hello! My name is John and I can't wait to meet you! I attend Miramar Community College and am pursuing a degree in Music Education. I am a motivated and understanding person and my teaching style is to work with patience, integrity, and encouragement. I look forward to helping you reach your goals!
As a beginning brass musician, students can greatly benefit one-on-one lessons that establish fundamentals.
As a young trumpeter, I am currently studying Music Education at San Diego State University. I have studied trumpet with Ray Nowak and John wilds of the San Diego Symphony. Apart from pursuing my degree, I am affiliated with Bonita Vista High School and have written and arranged music for multiple programs across the nation.
When teaching students, I focus on building a solid foundation of technique and fundamentals while teaching practical skills such as music theory and history to create a well rounded musician. A student that is willing to begin or progress as a brass musician can gain
very much by taking direction from one on one lessons.
I want my students to be inspired to learn their instrument. This all comes from finding that spark to get them started along their musical journey. Students should expect to work hard but to have fun and enjoy playing their instrument. I fully believe that is the key to musical success.

Jordan is a positive and encouraging teacher that gives structure and enough direction to keep my son on task. He is reliable and f

I recently took some trombone lessons with Chuck. I am a percussionist at a university looking to get my degree in music educatio
n which is why I decided to take some trombone lessons. I had minimal experience on brass instruments before this, but Chuck was very encouraging and helped me out a lot. I felt that within the ten weeks i studied with him, I learned a great deal about trombone/brass in general."

"Teacher works wonders!
My son enjoys playing with the school band and jazz band, but never put in more than he had to. That was until he started taking l
essons with Chuck. He's done a 360. My son is setting goals and achieving them, all thanks to Chuck. His confidence grows with each lesson. I'm not the only one to notice. His band director notice the improvement after just a couple weeks of lessons."

"We are very glad we have selected Christian, and we are very pleased with the approach he has used to teach our son. Our son is new to the trombone and
Christian is very patient and appropriately communicates constructive criticism to build confidence and endurance.
I would recommend Christian for any student that is new to music."

"David taught my daughter when she first decided to play the trombone in middle school band. It takes a special person to work with a moderately motivated,
quiet 12 year old girl. He was patient, providing her with plenty of skills to achieve 1st chair without pushing too hard, or the wrong way. However, without his guidance, she would never have attempted to try out for mid-state. He urged her to play music she liked, but also made sure she was exposed to jazz, improv and other styles. He accommodated our ever changing schedule, and probably hid frustration well when she forgot her instrument or didn't practice. We couldn't have asked for a better teacher!"

"Kevin is a true musician who not only teaches children how to play an instrument, but also how to respect the instrument and the music. He worked with my
11 year old son who liked playing the trombone and opened a door into a whole new found love of playing. He is extremely engaging, patient and offers constructive help when necessary plus his love of music is clear in his instruction. I would highly recommend his services."
