Andy is a great musician, teacher and person. He doesn't just understand music, he lives it. He is very patient and supportive with people and his talent definitely needs to be passed on to as many people who are lucky enough to get the chance!

I had looked at several people before settling on Andy for vocal lessons and I'm very happy I did. Even after a few lessons, I've noticed large strides in progress. He's very diligent and not complacent at all. He has stacks of books about voices and vocal faults- he's constantly trying to become better so you can be sure he'll do the same for you.

I've been very happy with my lessons so far and am giddy to see continued progress under Andy.

I met Jamila through Take Lessons, and I have to admit, I was so taken back by her level of expertise and knowledge, not to mention her personalized instructions, I am simply delighted to have found her. I find Jamila to be kind, patient and very thorough. I really enjoy spending time with her, talking about music theories, and understanding the art of playing the piano. She has so much knowledge and talent, that I can only hope to be able to play like her, even if its a fraction of the talent. Jamila is such a wonderful teacher, I see her with the younger students, and she has so much patience, its a very nice thing to see.

Firstly, I would like to say Bravo! Bravo to the lady in Boca Raton!

Our daughter has been taking piano lessons since she was 6, and she is now 16. So we are not new to piano teachers and piano lessons. However, from the first day our daughter began this wonderful new training in music, being taught/instructed by Ms. Jamila, we've observed a tremendous leap in her interest, enthusiasm and sheer joy of studying piano. Ms. Jamila exhibits all the qualities that one could ever find in a skilled and devoted teacher of music.

She has assisted our daughter in every way from music language, theory, technique to her insightful instruction. Our daughter is finally receiving the knowledge she needs to zoom her forward as a pianist. As a result, our daughter cannot wait for her next communication or lesson from Ms. Jamila. One session with Ms. Jamila is equivalent to one year with someone else.

Ms. Jamila is Absolutely Amazing! We highly recommend her to everyone.

Thank you Ms. Jamila. Bravo!

Jamila is the real deal! What a breath of fresh air after my previous bad experience. She's hands down the most experienced, sweetest and patient teacher around in this area. I've been taking lessons for 4 weeks with Jamila and already playing Bach and Chopin pieces. Every week I'm looking forward to my lessons and I know that I will go far with her. She makes me feel good about myself and always compliments me. She also sends me articles or anything that can help me to get better. Whether you're an adult like me or a child, she won't disappoint you. Thank you Jamila, so happy you moved down from NYC to Florida!
Steve G. Pompano Beach, FL

About Steve

Music has been a part of my life for over 4 decades. I stepped onstage when I was 15, and have been active in the music business ever since. I was raised in the New York / New England area, and played in many bands in the 70's and 80's, most notably the band AVALON. I moved to Florida in the late 80's and began to develop a one man show, using the emerging technology available. I called the show YIN YANG, the infinite possibility of Music. I chose the name, as it is the Oriental symbol for balance, and used it to represent the balance between the electric and acoustic, and the technology of today with the classic music from yesterday. Midi guitar and guitar synthesis became my trademarks as I pushed the boundaries of how I could express myself on the guitar. Being able to play sax, ...

Steve G: A Superb Instructor

I'm a student of Steve G.'s and am in my 40's. I had previously taken classical piano lessons from the age of 7 until 18, but I wanted to try my hand at guitar. Having come from a long line of teachers in my own family, I am well acquainted with the great (but often under-appreciated) skill it requires to be a quality instructor of any kind. A superb instructor (like Steve G.) should possess the following qualities:

1. Patient: Prodigies or masters of their art often lack the ability to convey their ability on a small scale to their pupils. Steve is an amazing performer and artist, and yet he is humble enough to walk alongside you, particularly when you are establishing the fundamentals of guitar technique. He will find the areas that need work and allow you to see how a small amount of persistence can result in large gains.

2. Encouraging: Steve is always optimistic. You can feel his passion for music in every word he speaks. He has the rare gift of making you see the flashes of your own talent, and he will help you build on those. He will not only help you figure out ways to overcome your obstacles in playing, but he will also deepen your appreciation of the instrument itself. He even went with me to the store to pick out an awesome acoustic guitar!

3. Individualizing: Steve doesn't have a once-size-fits-all method of teaching. He is a very keen and observant instructor who will challenge you based on your progress as well as your natural abilities. He will get to know you as a human being and as a budding artist. He will find ways to allow you to take your own inspirations and use them to drive you forward in your musical exploration.

4. Exemplary: Steve has tremendous integrity, not only as an artist but also as a professional instructor. He is also a tremendous guitarist with a broad repertoire, and watching him play will motivate you to become even better.

I hope this review is helpful to anyone who is considering taking lessons. Sign up with Steve and you won't regret it! Good luck on your journey!

You make lessons fun....

From age 6 until high school I took piano lessons. But guitar was always an unexplored desire. I started taking lessons with Steve a few weeks ago. From the very beginning he has been just so easy and comfortable to work with. He willingly adapts his style of coaching to my specific needs as a student, learner and musician. He's so strong in his fundamentals that I can pick the music and he builds lessons around my choices. Really makes me look forward to my own practicing and even more to my next lesson. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Steve, for bringing music back into my life.

THE BEST MUSIC TEACHER EVER!!!

I have been wanting to learn how to play the ukulele for the past two years, but I have been too shy to take lessons because I was scared I would be judged. I finally got the courage to put all my fears aside. I am extremely glad I did, and I was so happy to find Steve as my music teacher. He is very down to earth and never judges. He is very understanding and teaches me at my level. When he sees me getting nervous, he always tells me ," Relax, this is fun.' He makes me feel very comfortable. I'm not scared to ask him questions, or to learn from him. He is always giving me compliments on how I am improving. I believe he is the best music teacher ever, and I wouldn't ask for anyone else!!

Sarah has been an amazing tutor to work with. She is good at explaining concepts, making them very easy to understand. I think I have learned more in the few months I have been working with her, than I had in the three years of Spanish classes. Lessons are never dull with her animated personality.

She is also very accommodating to my schedule, and goes out of her way to help me with proof reading assignments. I would definitely call her again if I were to take another Spanish class.

Anna is very patient, she has an incredible knowledge of music and violin. The best violin teacher one can have.

Anna is an awesome instructor for my 12 year old daughter who is a beginner. Each lesson my daughter learns something new and progresses on the violin. Anna does a great job of teaching the basic techniques and not letting my daughter develop bad habits. Anna gives clear feedback: she praises what was done well and corrects what needs improvement. Anna encourages my daughter to excellence while making the lessons fun. My daughter loves violin lessons with Anna and looks forward to each lesson.

Aldrin is an excellent teacher. He is extremely knowledgeable and shows that knowledge in many ways. He is very patient and does not make me feel pressured. I am thrilled that he will be the person to give me my future lessons. His explanations of what we are doing are clear and concise. Cannot wait for the next lesson. As a matter of fact, my wife who listened in, will most likely take keyboard lessons from Aldrin as well.
