My son enjoyed his lessons with Daniel. He appreciated how he was challenged at each session and always looked forward to next lesson.

We will definitely request Daniel again in the future.

Letha H.

Atlanta, GA

Saxophone studies are balanced with technic and standard repertoire. Students are prepared to advance in band and ensembles. I improve embouchure and breath support. I can provide coaching for performances and competitions for both band music and jazz studies.

About Letha

With a performance degree from the University of Georgia, teaching certification from Georgia State and over 25 years of professional teaching experience, I am able to offer my students a diverse range of instructional resources.

*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons include a warmup, music theory work, vocal or instrumental technique and then a vast selection of song repertoire to support new ideas in both technique and theory. Students are directed to watch or listen to examples of master performances in their field of studies. Clear weekly goals are made between lessons and I am always enco
uraging! Whatever life throws at you during the week doesn't have to stop your studies cold- we will come up with a plan that fits your lifestyle.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have a small Protools setup with microphones and a Kurzwell keyboard. I like to be able to go online for some resources.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I regularly use the internet in lessons as well as standard published educational texts.

*** Specialties ***
I have been told that I am especially good at helping people make the jump from playing by rote to reading from the page. In vocal instruction, I am familiar with three schools of technique: the psycho-imagery school, the "anatomical" school, and the Italian "open throat" approach. My background in acting also contributes basic vocal projection techniques to vocal training. I am comfortable with all genres of music, including pop, rock, soul, R&B, gospel, jazz and opera. In instrumental studies, I am a woodwind doubler, reading fluently and transposing on-the-spot . As a jazz and gospel artist I improvise primarily on the flute and saxophone. My piano skills are equivalent to a second-year college piano major. I can improvise accompaniments as well as read piano scores. In addition to being a certified teacher in Georgia, I attained national certification through the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in 2004.

Jessica G.

Atlanta, GA

I have been in music and learned several instruments including the sax for over 15 years! Beginner sax players will learn embouchure (lip and mouth technique) as well as fingerings and music theory. From there we will start with beginner books and method books to create a solid musical foundation. At that point you will be free to choose your style of preference and we will expound on that!

About Jessica

Jessica is the music connoisseur. Jessica has multiple degrees in music, which include an Associate of Recording Arts, Bachelor of Music Business and a Master of Child and Adolescent Psychology. Jessica has been fond of music from a very young age, one of her first memories was singing over all of her parent’s tunes growing up. During middle school, Jessica took an interest in Brass instruments learning to play Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, Baritone and French Horn. After earning several superior medals during these years, Jessica also became the first chair trumpet player in her county and third i
n the state. Jessica learned several other instruments along the way such as piano and woodwinds.

Music has been the best part of Jessica’s life and she looks forward to making it the best part of yours. Developing yourself musically begins with a phenomenal teacher. Meet Jessica!

Eowyn H.

Atlanta, GA

I can teach both beginning and advanced students. New students can expect to learn proper embouchure, note fingering, tempo and articulation exercises, scales, and sight reading. Advanced students can expect to learn more difficult techniques, including altissimo, growling, falls, bends, glissandos, blues scales, improvisation techniques, and identifying chord changes.

About Eowyn

I am a college student majoring in jazz composition. I have been playing the tenor saxophone for three years and the clarinet for seven years. I have played in college jazz ensembles and paid gigs. My primary instrument is the tenor saxophone, and for that instrument I can teach advanced techniques, including growling, altissimo, vibrato, falls, bends, glissandos, and blues scales. I am also capable of teaching beginning through advanced music theory. I can teach scale identification, part-writing, notation, transposition, sight-reading, etc.
