Since my birth, my life was influenced by music and my father's passion to sing. My sense of music started not with understanding of lyrics, but of melodies and rhythms. As matter of fact, the first language I learned was music!! How is this possible?! Well, because of my hearing disability, I did not speak fluently and very well until I was in 9th Grade!! But with God's grace, I understood the language of music first!!

At the age of 10 months, I was hit with a deadly disease: Spinal Meningitis. But thank God, I survived. Because of the disease, I became legally deaf (profound-severed) in my left ear and hard-of-hearing (severed) in my right ear. I currently use a hearing-aide device on my right ear. Regardless of my hearing disability, I ha
ve the gift of playing music, understanding music, and living musically. I have learned and played music since I was 8 years old.

Piano was not the first instrument I learned. I started off with playing drums which is my secondary. I decided to make piano as my primary instrument and loved playing the piano ever since. My parents noticed my gift of music and agreed to take me to private piano lessons weekly.

After multiple years of private piano lessons from age of 8 to 14 and taking music classes in High School, at the age of 16, I joined the full band in a local church as the lead keyboardist. Of 19 years - and counting - with experience of performing and playing piano with a band locally and out of towns, I've had the privilege for 2 years as the Director of Worship & Music Ministry at Victory Outreach Sacramento (Spanish). Victory Outreach International granted me an opportunity to perform the instrumental piano background at the 2011 Victory Outreach International/World Conference at the Los Angeles Convention Center, California.

In that same year, I enrolled into the full 2 1/2 year program at Life Music Institute (Instituto Vida Musik). The Director of Life Music Institute noticed my passion for music and the desire to create a Deaf Music some day; we became very close friends. He invited me to participate with 70 member choir at a local Sacramento Festival 2012. Saving the best for last, I was honored to lead in front of 3,800 people of the final special song "En Una Sola Voz" (In One Voice) in American Sign Language.

Currently, I am excited and honored to be the Worship Leader & Music Director at Elevate Life Church in Sacramento, CA.

Not only I play piano and drums, I play guitar as well! I loved acoustic guitar and decided to pick up a guitar and starting learning. Now, the guitar is my third instrument.

Besides living and playing music, I teach also! By numerous peers, families, and friends, I've been told that I have the gift of teaching. I love teaching!!

I felt compelled to start teaching piano in 2010 at home. Loud n Clear Musik was founded. I've been hired by Southgate Recreation & Park District in Sacramento, CA as a Special Interest Instructor and taught there too.

My teaching experience did not start there however. I first started teaching at the Sacramento City Unified School District as the Teacher Assistant from 2001 to 2004 at Sacramento High School and J F Kennedy High School. It was an unforgettable experience teaching the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Hearing, and disabled students. I returned to the Sacramento City Unified School District as an Instructional Assistant I & II in the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Special Education Program and worked there making a difference from 2012 to 2016.

While seeking a way to further serve the Deaf Community at a greater scale, I received a surprise message from the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) from a high reputation non-profit organization called Norcal Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. She has heard about me and watched me volunteered and witnessed my ASL poetries in different events. In within 20 hours, I got hired on the interview. I am now serving the greater Northern California as a Deaf, Hard of Hearing & Deaf-Blind Client Advocate. In Fall 2016, I helped launch ASL Community Classes for the community with NorCal.

NorCal has me lead the ASL Community Classes for over a year now and I’ve taught over 100 students. It is still counting!! I've taught and teach students who are therapists, audiologists, government officials, teachers, educators, college and university alumni, families and members, elders, late deafened, dancers and performers, and fellow neighbors to help them better communicate, understand, and connect with the deaf community, Deaf culture, and their peers. I communicate in ASL non-stop with all Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Deaf-Blind. I can teach ASL effectively, fitting the students and class level with ease, and with lots of fun!! I also communicate (and speak) very well in two other languages: English and Spanish.

From time to time, I participate, volunteer, or get invited to share my unique gift of performing poetry in ASL and dance. I also volunteer to interpret for any service as needed. I have performed the National Anthem at the Sacrament Kings game and at the Democrat vs Republican in Sacramento Rivercats stadium.

I've taught, communicated, and worked with infants, children, teenagers, adults, and seniors. I have even taught and worked with special needs students, co-workers, and clients who has cerebral palsy.

I volunteer my time and used my gifts in special and social events to share and inspire students, friends, families, and peers. Many times, I always encourage others to witness, support, and participate as well, especially at Deaf Camp Grizzly. I'm often asked to perform in different events.

I believe that music is not our life. Our life is music. You ARE a music. I'm looking forward to help you have a musical life!!

*** Music & ASL Lesson Details ***

My approach is play music or sign first, then read and write music or understand ASL structure along the way. Just like an infant would speak first, then read and write later. It is more effective and smarter. Lessons are for all ages and are started off with songs based on their familiarity and strengths. Then progressively, I build on their weaknesses and expand their instrument and performance or sign language skills. The finally, when students are ready, I clearly explain and reveal on the music theory or sign language structure and grammar. There, their ‘whys’ are answered and ‘oohhhh-that-makes-sense’ are uttered. Lessons are progressive and it's not strict on my plan, but on the students' progress. Through patience and encouragement, my students enjoy succeeding learning how to sign American Sign Language or play music on their choice of instrument.

During the first lesson, I care about my students and their parents first; I want to be a friend to both of them. At the same time, they'll have a strategical, knowledgeable, and wise teacher. I start off with lots of comfortable questions about my new students, parents, and their interest. I even encourage my students to ask me questions too!! I move on in empowering my students to feel more at ease, confident, and fearless - and to enjoy!! Can a student learn without believing in themselves? Can a student have interest and passion without having fun or with a smile on their face? I encourage those important factors.

After noting down key strengths and weakness, their culture and daily environments, goals, examples of lessons, their preference of topics, needs, styles and songs, and creating a song list together, through excellence rapport and communication, I'll get the feeling of the students’ expectations, needs, and what they enjoy.

My style of teaching is very interactive and for anyone to learn. I had a 6 year old student who learn her first song, "London Bridge" on her first day. One adult student, who supposedly could never be on tempo, finally achieved this from tempo #50 to tempo #150 in 3 lessons. Other students who can play 'well' now improve their flexibility playing Major Scales with two hands with up-beat rhythms. Others can now fully understand the theory and rules of Major Scales, Minor Scales, Major and Minor Chords, Diminished and Augmented Chords, and fill out the exercise charts without hesitation. Surprisingly, another student now performs comfortably in front of their friends and family just for fun!! For sign language, students are always enjoying in learning to sign and my humors. Plenty of ASL students would be so encouraged and wants to pursue in becoming a professional interpreter or get a degree in Deaf Studies. These are just few examples of techniques, lessons, skills, theories, success, and new endeavors that students experience through my passionate teaching. I love what I'm doing!!

Each student learns in different ways. I am flexible and have access to many outside resources to ensure that my students' lessons are effective. My personality is lovely, fun, patience, peaceful, funny, kind, and friendly. From time to time, shy and timid private and group students are now confident and courageous. One very young student came up to me on his second lesson and said, "I really like you, Mr. Eddie!! I always enjoy seeing my student smile and laughing learning how to play music or learning sign language.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in contemporary, alternative, soft pop, pop-rock, R&B and uniquely gifted signing songs in American Sign Language with dance. But I am flexible in different genres. I enjoy all kinds of styles and genres. But more importantly, I study students' preference of genres to teach them basic fundamentals and go from there to more complicated fundamentals and techniques. I focus on teaching the students thoroughly of 3 elements of music: Melody, Harmony, and Rhythms - whichever is easier and more enjoyable for students to start with. Dynamics also are taught as well to add another important dimension to the music. Students do not have to sign songs if they just want to focus on communicating in sign language. Not a problem.

To achieve in understanding and performing or signing with all these elements, I highly implement them through visual, reading, writing, listening, and playing or signing. Lessons are hands on, active, thorough, and with common-sense examples and clarifications. Also, I enjoy teaching through many life examples to 'open their eyes' to the music language. I make sure that all their 'whys' are answered in a timely manner.

Alexis attended college at the University of Delaware and graduated cum laude with a double major in Music Performance: Voice and Music Education: Choral/Vocal. Alexis teaches proper singing technique and support through the Bel Canto philosophy of vocal production, and specializes in Classical, Opera, Musical Theater, and Jazz singing styles. Sight singing skill work is also offered and will cover basic music theory in addition to solfege music reading techniques. Alexis offers audition preparation services such as audio recording and transposition for her current voice studio students, for an additional fee.

In addition to vocal lessons, Alexis is pleased to offer beginner piano and music theory lessons. The piano lessons are geared towards singers who would like to learn to accompany themselves, or would simply like to be better at piano for rehearsal purposes. My daughter has been taking voice lessons with Alexa and we have been very happy, as she has improved a lot. I was only able to select one area under “subject” above so I selected “singing”; she works on several areas such as performance, has helped my daughter with audition preparation, fundamentals that she needs for her school chorale program, etc. Alexis is talented herself, very personable, easy to work with, and flexible. My daughter’s previous teacher left her (moved) with no warning and we found Alexis. It turned out to be a blessing as she is wonderful!!

Hi, I'm Glenn. Thank you for viewing my profile. I've been teaching students for over 20 years, playing all styles and levels of music, from day-one beginners to seasoned pros seeking to sharpen their playing skills. I teach both traditional notation and tablature, writing my own teaching methods in both formats. I can transcribe any song or solo for you, and can arrange the music to fit your particular level of skill.

I earned a B.A. in Music Composition and an A.A. in music theory, and have worked as a professional musician since graduation. I play in a variety of bands that cover rock, jazz, surf, oldies, and country, and also write and arrange music for those bands as well as writing my own music that can be heard on my own YouTube channel.

Stephen began violin lessons at age three. When his family relocated to Parrish, Florida in 1999, he joined the Florida West Coast Youth Symphony at age six and performed with them for six consecutive years, serving as concert master and assistant concert master. He then auditioned for The Venice Symphony and was accepted at age thirteen, the 2006-2007 season. He has performed with them for three consecutive seasons. In addition, he has also performed with the Sarasota Pops for two seasons from 2006 to 2008. He then joined The South Shore Symphony Orchestra in 2010, and performed with them for their first five concerts and has served as principal second violin. He also has joined Anna Marina Island Concert Chorus and Orchestra and has performed with them for the 2010-2011 season. In February of 2011, he relocated to the South Philly subur
bs and is currently performed with the Delaware County Symphony and the Rose Tree Pops. Throughout the years, Stephen has performed with Elicia in a number of events, including weddings, Christmas shows, and entertainment at restaurants such as the 800 Bay Restaurant and Club.

My lessons offer an extensive education in technique, musicality, music theory, and most importantly, effective practice methods that increase capability and skill rapidly. I tailor my lessons specifically according to the student's abilities and strengths, while incorporating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Typically, I use the Suzuki and Strictly Strings books for beginner students, and I will then advance to etude studies such as Wolfarht and Sevick in addition to the Suzuki sequels for my intermediate students. Lastly, I will add Introducing the Positions, Mazas, Josephine Trott Double Stops, and solo concertos to my advanced students.

After a few months, my students acquire a well rounded knowledge and feel for the violin and classical music and appreciate the art and beauty music brings to life. They are always strongly impacted and inspired to pursue and achieve higher goals and activities.

I would bring my own instrument, but would expect my students to have an instrument, stand (or a piano is fine), music (if it is not a first lesson) and a willingness to learn!

Most people think it is hard to learn anything, let alone the violin, online. But Stephen does a great job making online violin lessons just like an in person lesson! Had a lot of fun, and learned a lot. Looking forward to more lessons!

As a violin teacher, I am impressed by his ability to work with a variety of age groups and skill levels. He relates well to children and brings joy and humor to every lesson, while explaining the mechanics and the physics behind the technical aspect of music to more mature students.

I highly recommend Stephen to anyone who has a desire to learn the violin and a passion for music!

Welcome to my profile - I can't wait to start working with you!

I have been teaching piano and general music topics for over 10 years, and I am currently on the faculty at California State University Los Angeles - needless to say, I've seen students from all ages, all backgrounds and all levels. Lucky for me, they all one thing in common: a strong desire to learn music, and an open mind!

Some of my younger students have gone on to audition for arts high school in the greater LA area, and I've also helped a few prepare for college auditions. I've also been working with several students to prepare Certificate of Merit exams (in California) and I have been affiliated with the Southwestern Youth Music Festival as well. Other little ones were quite content learning how to play their favorite Christmas song or impress their fri
ends at their school's talent show.

I have also taught adults, who used to play and decided to pick it up again - or newbies wanting to discover the wonders of jazz standards.

In short, whatever your personal goal is, I can help you achieve it and hopefully inspire you to set a new goal to achieve right after that!

I can also help with music theory entrance exams, tutor for AP music classes or college classes, etc.

*Quick note on online lessons:
Many prospective students are wary of online lessons and not sure if it's the right way to go for them - I always tell them that you'll never know until you try it for sure! I have taken online lessons myself in the past and loved the experience. I can also attest that several students get a much deeper musical understanding this way, because teachers can't just play an example and have the student copy it - the teacher actually needs to explain how to perform the passage, which leads to the student understanding clearly what is expected and how to achieve it, rather than just copy someone's hand movements without understanding why they are doing it in this particular way. I'm sure you'll also be more relaxed in the comfort of your own environment, at your own scheduled time!

Canada-born pianist Andree-Ann has performed extensively across North America and Europe; her work has been heralded as “…Gorgeous, gritty, powerful, and traditional, all in one package” (The Music Farmer).

Specializing in familiarly-danceable yet traditionally-influenced Latin Classical music, Andree-Ann has found a calling for her art on the Left Coast, an ideal melting pot for blending cultures and musical styles. Aside from being recognized as a semi-finalist for the American Prize and nominated at the Utah Music Awards, Andree-Ann’s first album, Cervantes, Lecuona & Nazareth earned the Global Music Awards’ Silver Medal for Outstanding Achievement. Most recently, her Summer 2016 release, Milhaud & Ginastera, blended French, Canadian, Brazilian, Argentinean, and American musical traditions – perfectly timed with the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. This album has also been recognized at the Global Music Awards in September 2016.

With keen interest in developing her uniquely diverse repertoire, Andree-Ann regularly performs as a soloist, chamber music (in a piano-percussion duo), jazz pianist, and accompanist in the Los Angeles area. Her training includes a Master of Music degree in Afro-Latin music from California State University Los Angeles, and she is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Claremont Graduate University. Prior to relocating to Southern California, she graduated with honors from Humber College in Toronto, Canada.

My 7-year-old has had 5 lessons with Andree-Ann so far, and she is really enjoying it. In fact, she asked to take lessons more often with her! My daughter has absolutely no piano background, so I appreciate Andree-Annʻs patience while still ensuring that my daughter plays correctly.

Andree-Ann does a great job relating to your comfort level and adjusting her technique in teaching to keep you engaged and constantly learning. She understands that an individual will play great while practicing alone but then freeze up a little when you have an audience watching you play. lol She is easy to talk to and explain what you are struggling in. She will push you of you want pushed and relax if you need a little more time. I would highly recommend her for any level of artist.

What do you offer for a beginner?

Assuming a student has never played a piano and is 10 years old or older, lessons will focus on fundamentals of technique and sight reading classically oriented material. I follow piano curriculum developed by John Thompson and Alfred.

For students under 10 years of age without any prior piano training, a preparatory book may be used.

After a minimum 6-12 months of continuous piano lessons (assuming a weekly schedule), music theory will be introduced, along with chord playing.

What do you offer for a non-beginner?

Assuming a student has had a minimum of one year of continuous piano training, depending on the lesson customization, lessons will be based around the Alfred and/or John Thompson curriculum, and music theory and chord playing will be introduced.

Should a student already know chord playing, I will fast forward the lesson to sight reading lead sheet/fake books and learning pop, rock or jazz piano playing styles (left and ...

I am a working musician (my band performs >50 times in a year) in the Philadelphia area. I play piano, electric piano and hammond organ. With my band, I play Funk, New Orleans, Classic Rock and Blues and I also perform piano solo in Jazz, Pop/Rock and Blues.

I have been playing keys for over 20 years and graduated from Berklee College of Music with a major in Jazz Composition and Music Production & Engineering. I have taught students, teenagers, adult and small children as young as 5 years old. My teaching is focused on stylistic piano playing (chord playing, improvisation, transposition) for students over 10 years with at least 1 year continuous piano training. I certainly welcome piano training for beginners as early as preparatory level. Digital piano and digital hammond organ are available at my house for piano tutoring should you
choose to come to my location.

My graduate study was in Acoustics. I am an acoustical consultant and also an audio engineer. I specialized in room acoustics and electro-acoustics (loudspeaker design). I have a studio at home and open to audio tutoring (recording and mixing) request as well.

I am originally from Indonesia and have already published two books. I can help with Indonesian language tutoring for English native speakers. I have done many seminars/workshops both in English and Indonesian.
