I believe that drumming is a universal practice for joy, health, communication and discipline available for anybody...any age...any brain...any body.

I enjoy helping other people find the groove within them, strive to improve, and adapt their drumming regimen to make "the work" of drum practice feel more like the "play" of sport and meditation ... fun, free, and refreshing

Music is a subject that anyone can relate to. Playing and performing music is a dream that many people aspire. I have watched my students grow from complete beginners to taking stages in front of a large audience.

I am always thorough about teaching my students the basics: understanding proper technique, dynamics, rhythm, and timing. I teach my students to play to a metronome, read music and rhythms, play songs, and play along with other live musicians. I specialize in many various genres of music including funk, rock, pop, hip-hop, jazz, Latin, prog, and metal. Over time, you will learn to play like the professionals that inspire you.

About Dennis

Hey there! My name is Dennis, and I have been playing the drums for most of my life, and have taught for nearly 10 years. Music has become my greatest passion, and I love to share it with anyone who wants to learn. Music is a very special artform in which everyone can relate, feel, and understand

Do you have two left arms and two left feet (or two rights of each if you're left-handed), and have no idea how to coordinate behind your drumset?

Do you want to be able to accurately listen to a song and "play it" on your steering wheel as you drive?

Do you constantly have trouble maintaining speed, slowing down or speeding up for no reason?

How about wanting to go all-out and learning those crazy double-bass parts and snare rolls popular in today's extreme metal? Ostinatos/stick patterns on cowbells and timbale sounds from your toms?

I require a practice pad for lessons to learn rudiments and coordination techniques, even if it's just a mouse pad taped to a heavy book to start with. If you continue taking lessons, I can recommend the best practice pad for you.

I typically will teach and write drums using a combination of tablature and standard sheet music. Tablature a simple set of lines and X marks that are much easier to read, and once learned will instantly give you access

About Nathan

Hello! I have played guitar, bass, and drums for nearly 25 years. I also sing, play piano, and play several wind instruments. I compose music, and I have been involved in numerous live performance bands and recording studio projects. I studied music theory, composition, and technology

Teaching students how to play with bands and read music are both important. I've played over 30 years and taught over 20 of those years. Grooves, coordination, reading and soloing are all aspects of what I teach from mostly my own books. I combine having fun with the commitment of practicing into a well rounded learning experience. I have recitals for students to show off their talents 1-2 times yearly. I'm versatile in teaching new drummers or advanced students. I look forward to our lessons.

About Danny

I've played drums about 30 years and taught lessons about 20 of those years. Each student is different and I've evolved my lessons to accommodate teaching each student. My background consists of all styles of Drumset, marching band, rock bands, soloing and Troopers drum corps. Also playing in jazz,

"I have had a couple different drum teachers and learned to play pretty good, and then I saw John performing at the Belly Up! I was able to get his contact info through a mutual friend. Called for lessons and he was so cool, he asked all about my musical styles and direction and really made me feel comfortable and confident. I jumped from feeling like a 5th grader on drums to a legit drummer in just a few weeks (got paid for my first gig last month:)) Yes, Recommend!!!"
