My hope is that all students will learn at their comfortable pace in ways specific to their learning style. In more than 25 years teaching experience, I've learned that students will excel in and find enjoyment within an environment fostering self-confidence and self-expression. Of particular interest to me is bridging student interests, intra-curricular, and other collaborative repertoire assignments with lessons. I will have accomplished my life's passion when practice rooms, recording studios, audiences and stages have past and present students who continue to love music and support the performing arts.
I have a Master's Degree in Vocal Pedagogy from Peabody Conservatory at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. I began teaching during my final year of undergraduate School at Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham, AL. I began taking piano lessons at the age of five and played int he sch

Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA), violin performance from Michigan State University
My belief is that teacher's goal is to help a student to reveal and develop his/her personality through the music, so the lessons are adjusted for each student's needs individually. At the same time, the basis is a professional approach with detailed instructions, from posture, technique skills, and proper practicing strategies to phrasing and music stylistic features.
I teach classical violin and work with students of all ages/ levels.
I am a professional violinist and member of several orchestras in Michigan. I studied at St. Petersburg Conservatory and also have a Doctorate degree in violin performance from Michigan State University. My diverse background allows me to combine best features of Russian and American string schools.

Bachelor Of Music Magna Cum Laude from Berklee School Of Music
Fiddle is another name for the bowed string musical instrument more often called a violin, and is the term for the instrument used by players in all genres, including classical music. Fiddle playing, or fiddling, refers to various styles of music. Fiddle is also a common term among musicians who play folk music on the violin. Lessons would start with the basics: Tuning, hand/bow technique, placement, ear training, notes, reading, songs, scales, theory and learning how to take a solo.
Hi! My name is Karen D. I’ve had the pleasure of performing, singing, writing, and recording since I was seven years old. Besides being an Honor Graduate of Berklee School of Music, I have been a lifelong student of the international world-renowned instructors Dante Pavone and Charlie Banacos.
She didn't have one, so she could never demonstrate anything I asked about. She didn't know the key layout. She didn't know the conventions for numbering fingers. She didn't know the basic home key scale pattern.
I waited until I'd finished four classes with my new teacher before writing this so I'd have a good basis for comparison. He is immensely better at teaching this than she was. It further convinced me that she never should have represented herself as competent to teach this particular instrument.

Each person learns differently. So my lessons are customized for each individual.Nearly everyone is scared to dance at first. You need only start. Simply begin; I can help with the rest.
I learned to dance my country’s folk dances at a young age. Ballroom and Latin came later. While I pursued a college degree in technology, my love of dance prompted me to open my own dance studio. For 15 years, from his studio in Tbilisi, i taught, performed and competed across Europe before emigr

You may have rolled your eyes as soon as you saw this title of this post because it is 2021 and sewing a patchwork quilt is not even on your radar. You may also have immediately relegated this project to your retirement years, when you imagine that you will have endless amounts of time to learn to make a quilt. I bet if there was a fun video on a certain app about a patchwork quilt making challenge, you would have watched it and maybe even attempted it. I will do my best to make this project as …

Patternmaking for most beginners seems mysterious and intimidating. It is a subject a lot of sewists try to avoid. As a professional working in the fashion industry for more than a decade, I had the same fear as many of you. It took lots of trial and perseverance to overcome challenges, and carve out a successful career. The First Step is to Make Mistakes! Many of my students are worried about making mistakes. They want to be sure every step they take is correct. Multiple attempts and fai …

As a game, chess is traditionally divided into three phases: the opening, the middlegame, and the endgame. While all three are important, today I’m going to help you start out strong in the opening. When I first learned how to play chess, I played openings that really did not help me improve and left me with an awkward start to the game more often than not. Eventually, I adopted some of the openings that I will show you in this post and my rating skyrocketed. Opening Principles The first …
