I really enjoy taking saxophone lessons with Ana. She is extremely knowledgeable in topics related to saxophone, jazz, and improvisation. Her lessons are very organized, intellectually stimulating, and she provides just the right amount of structure while allowing me the space to develop my own creative ideas. I highly recommend taking a lesson with her. You’ll thank me later!

I have played clarinet for 5 years now and am working on music for solo pieces and band class. Ana gives me lots of material to work on and I am feeling more confident about my playing!

I'm a classically-trained flutist and have been taking Jazz improv and theory lessons with Ana for four months. I have learned so much from her - she has opened my eyes to jazz and made it fun and approachable. The lessons have given me a deeper appreciation when listening to jazz, improved my listening skills, and made me a better player. I never thought I would be able to do improv, and after a few weeks of lessons it came very easily to me. I highly recommend Ana to anyone who wants to learn jazz improv, regardless of what instrument they play!

I am an avid reader myself, and I have experience with students who have dyslexia, ADHD, or for whom English is a second language, as well as students who may just need a little bit of extra practice/help.
I have a good sense of what aspects of reading are difficult for students, and often incorporate music, rhythm, rhyme, drama/acting, and humor, to help struggling readers.

About Linda

I have been teaching music (guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, recorder, music theory, and classes for toddlers, preschoolers, school-aged children, and adults) for over 20 years. I am also a band/show director at the School of Rock! In addition to teaching music, I also tuto

I feel very lucky to have had Anna as my tutor at UCLA for Elementary Russian. Going into the program, I knew no Russian at all, and Anna helped me to feel comfortable asking questions. She explained grammatical concepts in a way that was easy to understand and her use of gestures with certain words really helped me remember vocabulary words and pronunciation. Anna also provided numerous resources for studying Russian outside of lessons and had wonderful recommendations for Russian YouTube videos. Thank you Anna!
Jorge
Anna was my tutor at UCLA for my first year of Russian. She used a variety of resources and authentic texts which made tutoring fun and different each time. She gave us exciting insights into culture while also practicing speaking and specific grammar exercises. I would definitely recommend her for first year learners! She's the best in town

I had Anna as my Russian tutor at UCLA for just over a year, and visited her session for an hour every week. She is incredibly friendly and personable, and goes above and beyond to support her students. During tuition, she would help us both with keeping up with the course content and with exploring the language outside of it. Learning Russian can be daunting for students who have no cultural or linguistic background in it, but Anna's demeanor and approach helped me a lot with developing confidence and building on my strengths. Meeting weekly with Anna is one of the things that I will truly miss once out of the Russian department.
