About Toya

I have taught acting to small children, teens, and adults in community, private, and collegiate settings. I taught acting at the legendary Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York City. My love of the arts has enabled me to study and perform in various cities throughout the US; including Los Angeles, where I studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, to Europe, Mexico, South America; then back to New York City, where I earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting from the prestigious Actors Studio Drama School.

I currently work professionally as an actor, singer, and TV and radio host. I've been fortunate enough to work in film, TV, theater, musical theater, hosting, commercials, improv, and voice-overs. I am also a vocally trained mezzo-soprano. Because I am still a working artist, I can not only teach you craft

, but can assist you in making the right choices to navigate your own way in the business. I offer private coaching to actors in theater and film, and singers in the US and abroad. I would love to share my knowledge and experience with you.

I can't recommend Alina enough. There are 'teachers' out there who are largely cheerleaders, offering lots of encouragement but not much advice or help. Alina is encouraging, for sure, but what I love about her is that she knows her stuff, helps you zero in on what you need to do to improve, and then helps you actually improve with great feedback and advice. Fantastic, I couldn't be happier, thank you Alina!

Private Singing Teacher

I am a high school choir director and have experience working with all voice types, ability levels and experience -- and I love every single one of them! One of my favorite aspects of teaching private lessons is that I get to find out and help shape my students' goals, whether it be recording their own music, auditioning for music programs/competitive music scholarships, or simply gaining confidence as a singer! The sky is the limit and it's important to me that I am helping each student in the unique ways that they need!

About Jenna

I am a pianist, singer, choral director and lover of many different genres of music from classical and jazz to musical theatre and indie/folk. I graduated from John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas with a Bachelor's of Music Education, emphasis in Piano.

If you are studying voice with me, I think you'll find that I am passionate about connecting each of my students to the own unique beauty of their voice and using that connection to bring about free singing, confidence and musicality by way of foundational singing technique. I also have extensive training in a cappella arranging/singing if you are interested in learning how to start/direct your own a cappella group.

My training in classical piano began when I was five year old and I've had some incredible instructors along the way who have enhanced my skills in contempor

ary keyboard, including beginning-intermediate jazz and jazz improvisation. I love to teach students to read sheet music and pursue classical/technical excellence, but also to learn how to play music using chord charts, by ear or all three, depending on your personal goals and preferences.

With a passion for music theory and improv techniques, I love to help students who are aspiring songwriters to develop that creative side, especially in combination with learning piano skills -- they pair very well together!

The most successful musicians I know are well-rounded and have developed solid foundations in technique so that they can perform well in many different styles and adapt quickly. This is such a necessary skill in today's technological world where we can share music from across the world with a click of a button! In my lessons, I love to help my students study a variety of genres.

Speaking of technology, I'd like to make a quick plug for my husband :) He is a fantastic videographer and primarily works for a film producer in the DFW area, but he also loves doing independent creative work on the side. He has experience creating quality music videos and would love to create content for any student interested in this!

I really look forward to meeting you and helping you become a confident, skilled musician!

Jenna has helped me improve so much since I've been taking lessons from her. She is very detailed and will break everything down for you. In the amount of time of my lessons I have become a lot more confident and am not nervous to play and sing in front of others now. She really cares about her students and will push you to be the absolute best you can be. All around down to earth good person and a bad to the bone teacher.

Jenna was way more than I expected. She is knowledgeable and friendly. My son is 7 and tends to normally get off track but she was able to keep him engaged the whole time. My son ended his lesson and kept playing even after she left.

Jenna is so involved with teaching her students how to sing, she shows so much support and really works with students to make sure they’re confident in their own voice and they have the right technique.

Private Singing Teacher

I received a Masters Degree in Vocal Arts from the USC Thornton School of Music where I studied voice with world-renowned vocal pedagogues and performers.

My love for teaching has grown throughout my own journey as a singer and I enjoy the challenge of unraveling each unique voice. I believe the process of learning to sing is a beautiful journey that not only liberates the voice, but liberates the soul and builds confidence in all individuals.

In addition to my private studio, I am a teaching artist at the non-profit institution, Neighborhood Music School 1914, which provides lessons and scholarships for children that otherwise might not have the opportunity.

I believe in providing a warm and supportive environment for students to learn and grow and I am passionate about reaching students of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels through music.

The One Thing You MUST Master Before Learning to Sing

By Suzy S.

What's the key to being the best vocalist you can be? Before you begin learning to sing, make sure you have the right attitude! Here, Tucson, AZ and online teacher Lourdes C. explains what that means...   I have been engaged in vocal training now for two decades now and, without fail, at a particular stage in their training all my students experience the same roadblock: like clockwork, they stall when they realize that learning to sing requires a thicker-than-thick skin. It starts …
