I had the pleasure of learning higher intermediate/conversational French with Philippe last year for several weeks. I must say that he was the best French professor I ever had. He was extremely meticulous with his approach and took the time to understand my strengths and weaknesses and curated the course based on that. He understood that there were days when I was finding the right words and would take the lead in our conversations. Whereas, other days, he would let me lead the discussions. We discussed on topics related to politics, society, religion, science, travel and business. He was extremely polite, and professional and didn't impose any of his beliefs and stayed true to his goal of helping me improve my French skills. By the end of our session, I was able to make a presentation of my work in international development and global health with him in French. He even helped me translate my poem in French. In addition to providing me with the ears to understand spoken French better, and the ability to speak more correctly, he also immensely helped with grammar topics such as subjunctive, future, and conditional sentences. I provide my highest recommendation of Philippe and assure you that he will make your French learning experience the one to remember.
Brian
Lessons with Philippe are a true pleasure. He is well-read, articulate, and funny. He takes the time to get to know his students and focuses the lessons around conversations and areas of interest. I have experienced immense improvement to my vocabulary and grammar, as well as in my confidence to speak and "think in French." I most appreciate that Philippe is not shy about providing useful feedback or recognizing hard work and improvement. Would highly recommend.
Nox
I have been studying french with Philippe since October 2020 and have seen a remarkable improvement in my french. He is a very diligent teacher who makes the class very interesting. He tailors it to the student's interests and is easily able to identify areas that require improvement and focus on that. He has helped me with grammar, reading, and listing. I would highly recommend end him for anyone serious about improving french.

Alisha is extremely well-informed and an expert in Organic Chemistry. She knows exactly what she is talking about and, more importantly, *understands* it and can articulate the concepts in a way that is easy to comprehend. She is patient with me and is willing to go slowly on practice problems so I can fully grasp the concepts and theory. I would hire Alisha again in a heartbeat.

I have been a Substitute Teacher for the Charles County Public Schools since September 2018. I started working with Grade 1and 2. During the second half of the year, I began to substitute for the 3's, Pre-K, Kindergarten, and Grade 1. It wasn't until the second half of the year, I started to enjoy helping children one on one in the Special Education Program. This is where I could concentrate on one or a small group of students who needed extra help with their classwork. I specialize in Reading, Reading Comprehensive, and Writing up to Grades 2. My students have told me that I am patience, I make learning fun, and I am very creative teaching the children at their learning pace.

I believe that I am qualified to tutor writing, because I have done very well in my college writing classes, at one point I considered being a writing minor. I have been recommended by professors to submit poetry to the university's newspaper. In addition to this, I received an award for embodying one of our writing departments main ideals, and a paper I submitted on a problem within American society was accepted to a day where students give 50-minute talks/presentations on their work. Finally, when I was in high school I went to the state level for a creative writing competition, and was the only one in my school in attendance for writing.

About Alexander

I started to, formally, tutor when I was in high school; I was recommended by my anatomy teacher at the time to tutor another student who needed help. In terms of informal tutoring, when I was growing up I would help my friend's younger siblings in subjects such as math or science. In college, I wo

"Mr Daniel is a very dedicated math tutor with a flexible schedule. He explain topics in different ways and break them down to the basics so that you really understand it thoroughly. He is always on time and excellent in subject matter. Mr Daniel helped me to achieve visible improvements in test scores ( Virginia SOL and Class Final Exam) in Geometry related to difficult topics such as Circles and Quadrilaterals so that I can score a solid A in my class. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of learning from him."

"Awesome tutor! Breaks down concepts to make it easily digestible and works with your schedule. He gives you great tips that you can't learn from a book. He is very laid back and that helps with the crazy chaos of MCAT studying. Overall, well rounded in the subjects of the MCAT and would work with him again in the future if I needed. I would defintely recommend him for future MCAT test takers."

"Janis first tutored our son in math. I was impressed with her admission to me that our son was smart enough to do the math on his own, but needed only motivation. She allowed us to be the ones to decide if we wanted to spend the money on tutoring after having this knowledge. We did continue, and she was really great with him. His grade was raised before we knew it! We then found out she gave guitar lessons and hired her to teach my daughter. She was incredibly patient and made the lessons fun. Both my son and daughter developed a strong relationship with her. I highly recommend her to teach anything!"
