I believe that every student has his/her own need because we are all unique as human beings, every one of us has their stronger and weaker skills and my job as a teacher is to find the best tool to pass to the given student.

I am strict but fun, whichever amount the student needs more.

I use the Suzuki books because the songs (and later pieces) in are very good, popular, fun, and evenly progressive.

Achievements depend also on the student and the amount of practicing done at home. I as a teacher can only do that much in passing my knowledge and spur the student own. Practicing at home is very, very important.

About Hrant

Hrant's interests range from the solo cello repertoire to chamber music, teaching, and orchestral playing. As a teacher he has been a faculty member at Yale School of Music, 92nd Y, Summertrios Music Festival, and has held master classes at Yale and the William Blount-Slawson Competition. He has re

“After decades of thinking I'd lost my ability to sing, I learned how to finally sing utilizing my diaphragm while studying with Marye! She helped me locate my vocal range, which was huge, while making it feel so inclusive and safe! The joy of singing has returned to my life through Marye's skilled, sensitive and sweetly cultivated music space.”

A good violin lesson is all about balance: balance between études and repertoire, between technique and expression, even between historical/contextual information and elements of music theory. In the end, the most important things are that the student is learning, and that the student is having fun.

"I really enjoyed my lessons with Peter, he was professional and kind as I took on a new adventure in learning cello and reading music as and adult. Skype was a wonderful option since I couldn't find any local instructors. There was a delay in sound at times so we would accidentally talk over eachother or I didn't know what was being asked to play, but we worked it out ans overall I would say it's worth it and would recommend Peter."

"Complete novice who has always wanted to play piano since young age, However being completely uncoordinated I was never able to find a teacher to take the time and work with me. Tracy is incredibly well prepared and was able to break down every process into a easily digestible portion. Taking time to correct my technique all while still listening to what I wanted to learn/get out of the lessons as a whole. Probably the most professional and helpful music professional I have had the pleasure of working with."

"Elena is an amazing teacher! She has taught my 9 year old both singing and ukelele, and inspired her to practice without me prompting her! She's flexible with scheduling changes, offers a wonderful experience for children learning to use a microphone, uses humor to make her students comfortable and offers participation in a biannual performance at a venue. This opportunity to perform in front of an audience with a professional multi-camera recording is such a plus! I can't say enough good things about her teaching style, and how quickly my daughter has gained confidence in singing and playing an instrument as a result. My daughter is inspired to play and sing as she sees quick results and enjoys her sessions. I highly recommend Elena as a music instructor for any age!"
