I can help the student practice and learn their way around the cello in an efficient manner. This means that I will be helping with intonation and other technique by giving exercises for the challenging passages. Lessons will be customized according to the goal of the student. Sharing my knowledge in cello and music is a passion and a goal of mine and I would love to help reach your goals.
About Alexandra
I am currently a student at the Juilliard School in New York-- I completed my Bacherlor's degree and will be continuing my studies for my Master's degree. I began to play the cello at the age of 6. I love teaching strings. Cello was my first instrument. I focus heavily on bow technique. I have gotten students into youth orchestras and passed college auditions. I like to use the Essential Elements and Suzuki books.
I also offer online group lessons at a highly discounted price. I suggest that all my students join. This is a great option for kids while class is out.

I recommended him."

My previous instructor had a less traditional manner of teaching and I am very much enjoying the approach that Susanna uses."

Because my husband and I are using the same email address for these lessons, I had to write this review under my husband's "review nickname," JimSong. I am a female and a beginning cello player.Joann is an accomplished symphony cellist. Yet she is able to help a beginner like myself.
She is a very knowledgeable, understanding, and patient teacher. I am learning a lot about the cello and have been motivated to work at improving my skills. My husband is also taking singing lessons. Glad we found Joann.
Sincerely,

There are famous luthiers, like Stradivari and Guarneri, whose names are synonymous with masterpieces of craftsmanship. These masters innovated many of the standards for modern stringed instruments, and so many luthiers might include on the la …

The string family has a unique history, and a very unique look. Modern instruments have elaborate carvings adorning on the top, inlaid purfling supporting the cello’s rich sound, and beautifully stained wooden bodies. There are also internal posts and sound bars which allow the body to function as an acoustic amplifier across the cello’s wide range. If you want to know the cello parts names and how the instrument works, read on before your next cello lesson to get ready! Head and Neck Like …
