Renee's expertise in teaching and passion of music is most evident in her approach. Her philosophy is such that a vocalist is make better by knowing and being able to play notes - and she's right!

My son's review of her is, "She is the best teacher ever!"

Renee is very knowledgeable, but also has the God given gift of teaching. She truly pulls the best out of my son. His diligence and focus are growing, right along side of his piano skills. We could not recommend her more highly.

Victor K.

Cincinnati, OH

About Victor

I received my Bachelor of Music Degree in Organ Performance from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music in June of 2010, studying under Dr. Roberta Gary. I have completed all the coursework for the Master of Music Degree in Organ Performance. I will receive the degree in late 2014 or early 2015 after performing one more solo recital.

I began playing the piano at the age of 5, later moving to the organ at 9. I have held a church job since then, working in multiple different denominations and settings. I have a strong background of piano, accompanying, theory, sacred liturgy, and m
usical performance. I enjoy studying and listening to many genres of music as well as performing them. I am very interested in historically informed performance and understanding different techniques as they are related to the composition style of different time periods.

I enjoy working with students of all ages. Regardless of your ability, age, or experience, I will work with you. We can work out a plan for lesson times, intensity of practice and work, and tailor the lesson to the right pace for you.

*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons tend to be tailored to the needs of individual students. I am not as much a fan of a strict curriculum that I use on each student. For beginners, one can expect to be given method books to get them moving in the right direction. As one advances, we eventually move on to repertoire. I take an approach to lessons that emphasizes total body awareness and high level mental awareness. The most important thing anyone can learn in music is that it isn't just about the right notes; it isn't about the right rhythm. It is about the complete musicianship and the complete awareness needed to truly understand and perform a work of music. In order to make this approach work, my strictness as a teacher varies depending on the level of devotion the student is willing to put forth. After six months with me as a teacher, expect to notice changes in the way you see music and comprehend your technique at the keyboard.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I expect students to purchase their own music. For beginners with method books, I have these available to the students to purchase from me.

*** Specialties ***
I am very highly trained in performance practices of the Baroque era, especially on the organ. I am also very specialized in body movement and efficient keyboard technique. I also have a lot of experience in the Romantic repertoire of the piano. Lastly, I am also well trained as an accompanist on both the organ and the piano.

Rebekah A.

Fairborn, OH

About Rebekah

I'm Rebekah Andrews and teaching music is something I've always been passionate about. I have been teaching music since high school but I graduated in 2014 with a Keyboard Pedagogy degree from Cedarville University. Through my experience at Cedarville I learned how to teach according to different learning styles and how to help students move at their instrument without any pain.
I spent the last year working as a music intern at a church in Rome Italy. There I was able to teach music to kids from multiple backgrounds and cultures. I love meeting new people and learning about our differences
and similarities.
I am back in the States devoting my time to building a music studio with students who love to play and have a passion for music and learning. I can also teach music theory, history, aural skills and composition.
As a musician it's very important to be versatile and well-rounded. My goal for my students is to love what they do and do it well.

I own a comedy theater and hired Errik to teach voice lessons to an improvised musical class. He did an amazing job and was able to make noticeable changes with each student in just the first class. I was blown away by his knowledge and ability to teach in a way that made it easy for students to understand and apply. The feedback from our class was overwhelmingly that Errik's portion was the most impactful part. If you're even considering working with him, I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Errik is a patient, talented instructor who can help you explore and improve your vocal abilities. His classes have led me through different styles of music, a wide variety of vocal exercises, different methods for expanding my range and improving the sound of my voice across the board. It really helps to have constructive feedback from someone who really knows vocals. Classes are fun, challenging, and most of all, very productive. I highly recommend Errik to anyone who is looking to improve their vocals and make singing even more enjoyable. You will not be dissappointed.

I've been singing for 30 years, studying both musical theatre techniques and classical singing techniques. In all those years I've had many voice instructors - Errik is beyond a doubt my personal favorite.
His knowledge, experience and passion for music is humbling to witness. Errik always gives his absolute professional best, and inspires his students to give the same in return. Even though he and I are different voice types I felt like he knew more about my voice than I did, and he worked hard to help me discover the potential of my own voice.
I studied with Errik for a year and a half as I finished my Bachelors in Music Degree, and in the future when I seek professional instruction to refresh my vocal techniques Errik will be the first person I call.
