Jessa D. Cumming, GA

About Jessa

At eight years old my great-aunt offered to pay for me to take an extracurricular activity and a little voice whispered to me - take piano lessons. As soon as I started lessons I was recognized for my talent. I taught my skills at the piano only 4 years after that, teaching my siblings the basics of what I already knew. And I never stopped. I was mentored by one of the foremost teachers in all of Vermont, USA. She taught me about how to successfully teach young pianists to learn the piano. Today I teach piano in my home to a growing number of students. *** Lesson Details *** Students should feel relaxed with me and enjoy the time we take to learn the piano. I tailor my style to each student. Some students need immediate correction and forthright instruction, while others need patience as

Great Teacher!!

My 10 year old Son, has been taking lessons from Jessa for about 6 weeks now - he has learnt in leaps and bounds from Jessa. She is very patient, kind and very precise in explaining to my son, she is very clear and has a great way with children. I have appreciated her professionalism, and especially helping him believe in himself and build his self confidence. This has been a very positive experience in many ways. I highly recommend Jessa as a piano teacher - we love her!!!
Stephen M. Alpharetta, GA

About Stephen

Since he was seven years old, Mr. M. knew he wanted to be a singer. Once he heard the glorious voices of the three tenors (Domingo, Carreras, and Pavarotti), he knew he must spend his life learning to make those awe-inspiring sounds. It was at this time when he started singing in church choir, and Mr. M. highly encourages all aspiring singers to join a community choir or church choir as soon as they’re able. Throughout his musical education at Georgia State University (Bachelors and Masters Degrees), he gained a firm musical foundation in vocal technique, ear-training, sight-reading, music theory, and a renewed appreciation for making music as part of a group. In addition, he had the good fortune to learn from some of the most phenomenal musicians in Atlanta: Dwight Coleman, Dr. ...

I am totally new to singing and this was my very first class so I was quite apprehensive. Stephen however was able to create a safe environment and within minutes I felt that it was right, that taking singing classes was not a crazy idea.

I am very happy and I hope I will be able to take many more classes with Stephen.

Mr. McCool is an excellent teacher! He just naturally shares his love for music with his students and this is a beautiful thing to experience. He is always patient and encouraging during our son's piano lessons. He is firm and serious when necessary but always friendly and kind. His teaching style is absolutely perfect for our 12 year old son who is motivated so much more by encouragement than by criticism. Stephen has a gift with children...he shows a sincere interest in what's going on in our son's life (they always have a little chat before his lesson begins). We are fortunate to have have found a wonderful music mentor for our son. I would highly recommend Mr. Stephen McCool to anyone interested in voice and/or piano lessons.

Mr. Stephen M. is the best vocal teacher I have ever had. Originally, he was a vocal teacher at my school Woodward Academy. When he told me he was leaving Woodward, I made arrangements to continue taking voice lessons with him, because of how talented he was. He can truly change voices. He will push any student to reach their full potential. Most vocal teachers only focus on the basics: pitch, rhythm, and diction, but he goes beyond that and focuses on the basics as well as more advanced concepts. He will teach you all about posture, tone, emotion, sound placement, vowels, mouth shaping, and the history of the music. Although I am leaving for college, I will truly miss taking lessons with Mr. Stephen M. and hope that my musical experience in college will be as good as the one he provided me with in high school. If you want to take your voice to the next level, Mr. Stephen M. is the only option!

Top notch teacher.

Norman is an excellent teacher. I have been with him for just over a month now and I have came leaps and bounds. It's my first instrument that I have tried to learned and I can read music and play duets with him. He's friendly and very knowledgeable of the material also. I would say that in a couple months I will be dazzling my friends and family. So if your thinking about an instructor then Norman would be a great investment.

I've been taking guitar lessons across the country since 1975, and Mark is the best instructor I've ever had. His expertise on the instrument is only surpassed by his ability to make something complicated appear simple for the student. I've had more fun taking lessons and practicing in the past 6 months as Mark's student than I have in the previous 40 years. I highly recommend him.

5 Easy Songs for Kids to Play On Guitar
Are your kids looking for easy songs to play on guitar? Get them started with these great suggestions from guitar teacher Willy M.... That first guitar lesson is critical for establishing a love of playing in our students, but most of the time teachers approach the instrument as though we need to prepare the student for the worst. "It will be difficult... You have to put in a lot of practice... Your fingers will hurt, etc." These things only serve to discourage the student and the parent, who
Are You Making the Most of Your Violin Practice?
Gifted musicians don't appear from nowhere fully-formed and ready to take to the concert platform.  For every 45-minute concerto or 90-minute recital you hear, hours of hard work have gone into every note, every phrase, and even how the music is approached, learned, and memorized! It may seem strange to say that proper practice is the most nerve-wracking element of mastering your violin, but if you don't know how to structure the session, how can you ever be sure that you're working on the righ

Getting ready to buy your first piano, but not sure which manufacturer to look into? Here, St. Augustine, FL teacher Heather L. shares a bit about two of the best piano brands...   Two of the first questions that I get from parents of my piano students are "What kind of piano should I get?" and "What are the best piano brands?" The facts of the matter are that our modern piano is a 19th century invention about which many people, even pianists, don't know a lot about, and the curre
