Marta R.

Cambridge, MA

Graduated from Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan, I've been teaching drawing for 7 years and my students have gone on to develop a unique approach to their creativity. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to use basic techniques and draw small compositions in still life. As time goes on you'll be able to use the pencil to delineate shadows and lights, create your own compositions and describe in detail the human figure (figurative drawing).

Alexander S.

Boston, MA

Drawing can function differently for every artist's practice, and it is my goal is to develop in my students a balanced technical and conceptual understanding of drawing, making the medium work for their unique goals. Depending on your skill level, we will tackle foundational concepts and rendering, focusing on hand skills and composition, and develop strategies for translating ideas to the paper, as well as direct observational drawing.

About Alexander

I am professional artist working in a variety of media, but with a focus on drawing, printmaking, sculpture, installation, and photography. Other areas of extensive training and expertise include painting with acrylic or watercolor, and the use of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Most recently, I taught silkscreen printing at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, where I also received my Master of Fine Arts degree in 2013. My own artwork deals with issues inherent to the ever changing built environment, as well as exploring human tendencies with a sardonic humor. Teaching is my passion, and I truly enjoy working one on one with students to help them develop their work, understand their impulses, and ultimately make stronger, more thoughtful and communicative work.
