Gabriel H. Clarksville, TN

About Gabriel

My name is Gabriel. I have been playing and teaching for over 25 years both piano and Voice. As a Music Major and Christian Education major at Johnson Bible College I not only learned the skills needed to be a musician but also how to teach what I had learned. As a Student you will find that learning to play and sing can be fun and easy. I always make my lessons enjoyable and I add humor, games and other instruments to enhance your learning experience. I am both a musician and song writer. I have a great time teaching and work great with both Children and adults. I love it when working with people and that "Light" comes on when they realize "I really learned something." I live for those moments. I have worked with students of all levels. I even work with children with

Gabriel is doing a wonderful job teaching our daughter to sing in her voice and not to mimic other popular artists. We opted for the hour lesson and are pleased the improvement we have witnessed in a few short months. Highly recommend Gabriel!

Cameron C. Nashville, TN

About Cameron

Cameron is a musician, teacher, and worship leader. He recently moved from Anaheim, CA 9 years ago to achieve a Bachelors Degree in Commercial Music at Belmont University and now resides in Nashville, TN. Since 2004 I have gigged, recorded, and wrote/ co-wrote music in Nashville, TN. When I graduated in 2008 I went on the road for a couple years with an artist named Dave Hunt when I returned from the road I wasn't quite sure what to do next. I decided that I might enjoy teaching so for the last 4 years I have started small and built up my student base to around 30-35 students a week. I also teach high school music history and music theory at a home school tutorial and enrichment school in town. I simply use the college curriculum that I received and fine tune it for students from all

For years, I've wanted to play guitar and had picked up a very basic understanding of how to play along the way. Cameron quickly identified the things I knew and adapted each lesson to where my skill level was at. He was great at incorporating the things I wanted to know with the things I needed to know, and built my lessons from the meager understanding I already had. A great experience, all around. Highly recommended!

Great Success

As a middle-aged adult just getting started learning an instrument, I was concerned about how well I would do. Cameron makes the learning curve easy and with practical homework assignments along the way, immediate feedback is assured. Highly recommended
David F. Nashville, TN

About David

Since beginning his teaching career in 1974 David has taught 7000 people how to play guitar! Some aspiring only to play at home for fun and others to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. David F. has also taught advanced guitar and music theory to several professional musicians who already play other instruments fluently including Oscar nominee Scott Rogness, who co-wrote and performed the songs featured in the movie That Thing You Do. Scott had this to say about his study with David: "I studied with David for about 8 months. Although proficient on keyboards, a singer and songwriter; I had never learned the guitar. I knew a lot about the guitar by osmosis, but technically was green. David let me look at the guitar in a whole new way, using infinite variations on basic

I have increased my lesson frequency to two one-hour sessions per week simply because of my progress under David's direction. After only three months of weekly lessons, I can now read music and play while reading. David has introduced me to effective melodic soloing, has significantly improved my understanding of barre chords up and down the fretboard, and has convinced me to abandon "guitaristic" thinking in favor of really understanding the potential of the guitar beyond shape memorization.

For those players serious about music, who are willing to devote the time and attention required to improve, and who appreciate not only learning to play guitar but the theory and history behind the music, David is your man. I have taken lessons in the past, usually consisting of a teacher asking what riffs I wanted to work on that day. Sound familiar? Not David. Within the first two weeks, he has me focused on plucking the strings with more feel, using a pick and fingers simultaneously with my right hand, practicing scales to the tempo of a metronome while using the forwards and backwards technique, etc. He has convinced me that I can become as accomplished a player as I put my mind and heart to. His mantra is to work towards playing at the speed of thought, which, for the first time in my life, looks to be a possibility with time. Thank you, David.

Just had my first lesson with David. Gave a wealth of info now it's up to me but with his approach I know it will be all good. Have had other teachers but David is not only an accomplished player he is also is able to instruct and teach. Will write again after a few more lessons.

Justin W. Franklin, TN

About Justin

Hello! My name is Justin, a Christian musician that recently moved to the Nashville/Brentwood area from Michigan. I'm a pianist, guitarist and bassist that loves performing, teaching, learning, and above all enjoying life. When I'm not working on music, I'm usually found biking or running through the hills of southern Nashville. I love nature and all of the opportunities that it gives us to explore and learn! I started my formal music education when I was in the third grade, taking classical piano lessons at my parents’ request. I progressed steadily but never felt truly connected to what I was doing. Two years later, I was introduced to pop piano music through the worship band at my church. I learned to play by ear and read chord charts, taking my abilities far beyond the reach

Chris S. Nashville, TN

About Chris

I started teaching myself guitar in the mid 1990's and was so taken by the beauty of the guitar that I quickly formed a rock band in high school and covered a lot of classic rock, blues, and americana music. I attended TCU in Fort Worth Texas and played in the jazz ensemble as well earned two degrees (Bachelors in music and Masters in Music) in classical guitar performance. I've also studied in Madrid Spain with the composer and guitarist Jose Luis Merlin and have performed many of his works. I've taught privately for many years. I also tour the country in a duo ("Chris & Lolly") and we perform original singer/songwriter material that is Americana, classic rock, blues, jazz, and soul music. I play and teach both electric and acoustic material. I also have released several studio records ...

Chris was my first guitar instructor that I feel like I was actually inspired to keep playing. Prior instructors had pushed me to play songs that I never wanted to and I can't say I actually remember any real technique before my lessons with Chris.
I've had lessons from age 7 to my current age of 17 and for 3 or 4 of those years, while Chris was still at TCU in Ft. Worth, he was my teacher. I still have all my notes and sheet music from songs that he introduced me to and songs that I'd wanted to learn at the time. He first introduced me to schools, to new chords, and actually (I don't think he knows he did this) to blues improvisation.
Always kind and extremely enthusiastic and relatable, Chris taught through tab, sheet music and just showing me by sight and ear. Since his moving to Tennessee, I haven't had any lessons other than YouTube and reading tab. I'm fully confident in my ability to now teach myself to further my skills and techniques that Chris first taught me. Chris has a very diverse skill set and can play blues, rock, country and classical extremely well. I would highly recommend Chris as a teacher for beginners because of my experience as a new guitarist learning from him but also for those who are already confident in their abilities and need someone to brush their technique up or inspire them to push their skills further.
I know that if I were still able, I'd be taking lessons from Chris twice a week.
Kevin S. Nashville, TN

About Kevin

Hello! My name is Kevin, and I'd like to be your teacher. I'm a former high school teacher, and I'm also a part-time guitar player in Nashville. I've taught Honors English, AP Seminar, and various Social Sciences at the high school level, and I've taught several students to play guitar (some of whom are currently quite successful in the music industry). In addition, I've coached both football and baseball at the high school level, and I was a walk-on member of the football team in college. I love teaching, regardless of the subject, and I love to learn as well. I'm constantly teaching myself new things, and I find joy in making and sharing these kinds of discovery. I'm always looking for new ways to connect to students and their interests. I believe that makes learning fun and fulfilling.

What Are the Best Violin Brands for Beginners?
When you’re first starting to play an instrument, it's important to find a compromise between affordability and good quality. It’s not always smart to buy the cheapest model available, as not only is this likely to produce a poor sound and hamper any incentive to practice or progress, but it's likely to lose a lot of value on the resale market - it's worth bearing in mind that student models will be resold at some later date, whether you're moving onto something better, or to another instrument
