I have been playing piano myself for over 12 years and have been teaching for 7. I am classically trained, but also can incorporate more modern pieces if you are interested. My goal in lessons is to provide a solid foundation of technique, music theory and skill on the instrument while also exploring each individual student's interests and passions. I love working with my students to expand their skills and knowledge and can't wait to begin your musical journey with you!

Fun lessons but also challenging
- I believes that fun lessons are easy to gain young student interest, but it often lack to give them motivation. In the lessons, I often challenge my students, let them be self-motivated and become a better musician.

Techniques
- I focus lessons on teaching proper techniques with their instruments. With my experiences in taking lessons from American, Chinese, and Russian teachers, I learnt a great spectrum of techniques and like to teach what I had learn.

Learning pieces and other related topics
- Playing pieces and songs is only a small piece of playing an instrument. In lessons, I also teaches proper music theory, and ear-training.

Hello! I'm a pianist, composer, and teacher living in Philadelphia. I'm passionate about helping students amplify their musical voice, instilling the fundamentals of musicianship along the way. I strive to create a fun, productive environment with lessons tailored to each students' goals and abilities, and I have years of experience teaching both privately and at the university level. With degrees in music from the University of Pennsylvania and Eastman School of Music, I look forward to bringing my expertise to your lessons, whether you're looking to improve as a pianist, songwriter, composer, or your all-around musicianship.

I am a concert pianist with a passion for teaching. From a boarding arts secondary school to prestigious conservatories in both the US and Europe, I have honed my craft, and developed a love for sharing my passion with others. I have taught students at the Yale School of Music and at the Eastman School of Music in the United States. Additionally, I have taught a private studio for a year in Brussels, Belgium and given masterclasses at universities and schools across the Americas. My goal as a teacher is to instill my own love for music in my students.

I love teaching and providing the student with different types of styles and genres to learn from. If you wanted to learn classical then we would focus on that and learn in the most efficient pedagogical approaches there are, but if you wanted to learn jazz or rock then we would instead focus on the creative and improvisational side of learning. What a student needs is also based on who they are and what music they love, and with a good combination of fundamental principles and musical exploration the student is nurtured to be the musician they want to be.
