Lauren is inspirational!

I began studying with Lauren about five years ago. Her instruction in musical theatre, opera, and pop has been some of the best that I have ever received. In fact, thanks to her coaching, I was able to book a role in my first Equity musical, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, at the Pantages Theatre in LA. She has a passion for music, is an excellent accompanist, and knows how to work with developing singers. Her engaging, encouraging direction continues to inspire me to be the best vocalist I can be!

Lauren is an amazing teacher!

Lauren is an incredible teacher! I came to her without much experience in vocal technique, and she has helped me improve so much. She has taught me many useful techniques to stay on pitch even when the notes are really high, to have good breath support, and to project my voice more.

Lauren is a very supportive teacher. She likes to establish friendships with her students, and she truly cares about what's going on in their lives.

I've taken lessons with Lauren for a little over 3 years now because I've had such a great experience with her. I'd recommend her to anybody! She has helped me get into my school's advanced choir, prepare solo songs, and just practice my singing technique in general.

Also, scheduling voice lessons with Lauren is very convenient. We never have problems finding a common time. I love the studio where she teaches too! It's really cool. I have nothing but positive feedback about my time with her, and I plan to continue lessons with her!

About Cameron
STUDYING WITH ME:

Learning guitar should be interesting and fun! While we're studying all the different aspects of the instrument, you'll also be learning how to play your favorite songs and solos! I approach each student as an individual and structure their lessons according to what I determine they need, as well as what they are interested in musically. I concentrate on many different areas; ear training, theory, playing technique, improvisation, various styles of music, and, the physics of the guitar. Understanding how the instrument works is important in my opinion. My long term goal is to teach a student how they can teach themselves down the line. Understanding why you’re playing something is just important as knowing how to play it. I aim to give a student rich and well rounded one-on-one time!

GENERAL BIOGRAPHY:

I h
ave been teaching and performing for over a decade both in the US, and in England. I have played in various bands and have produced independent artists. I have worked for a recording studio and for various academic institutions including the Filomen M. D'Agostino Greenberg Music School in New York city.

I obtained my degree from Purchase College in New York and am a member of their Conservatory of Music.

*** Lesson Details ***
I construct lessons for each individual student depending on their musical tastes, goals, and current skill level etc. I want each person to get as much from their time studying with me as possible. Within three to six months, I'll have you working on timing, theory, ear training, improv, and songs/styles of music you may be interested in. I'm laid back, however, I expect at least the minimum practice time between lessons, which I'll change throughout the course of our time together depending on your skill level etc. Practice materials I draw up are included. I write out everything in plain English and do not require the use of sheet music!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Small recording studio, piano, various guitars, bass, and amps.

*** Travel Equipment ***
guitar, bass, laptop, digital recorder.

*** Specialties ***
I concentrate on ear training, improvisation, and explore styles ranging from pop, alternative, rock, prog, and blues, to metal, funk, and folk etc. I do not require sight reading skills for any level of student. Rather, I work with the student with theory and arrangement conventions to really understand the music. This intern, greatly sharpens their musical ear and helps them to learn music much faster because they understand how it is put together; why and how it works, etc.

***Teaching Special Needs***
I have experience teaching students who have been visually impaired,
blind, hearing impaired, or who have had mild learning disabilities. I
am also comfortable with a student bringing their service dog or
therapy dog to our lessons if they wish.

He takes time to find songs at my level of learning and accommodates my tastes in music. I would recommend him for anyone who is interested in playing guitar.

Cameron is great at tailoring the lessons to my musical taste without compromising the theory, basics and fundamentals.
I have been taking lessons for one year and will not go elsewhere anytime soon. His vast musical knowledge helps merge the theory with concrete examples. No question remains unanswered.

Learn how to record and mix your own music.

About Trevor
Every musician was first and foremost a fan of music. My love of
music began when my mother took me to a performance of Beethoven's
fifth symphony when, coincidentally, I was five. From that point, I
started fervently listening to my mother's records (those are the
huge, black monstrosities that people in the pre-historic used in
place of iPods), followed closely by my father's CD collection.
After a while, this ravenous desire of to know and feel music moved
me to play an instrument. After a couple of false starts with the
drums and violin, I found my true musical calling: the guitar.

On January 25th 1995, on a whim, I began playing the
guitar, and I have yet to put it down. Along the way I've picked up
a number of friends for my guitar, including the bass, the lute, the
sitar and, once again, the drums. After on
ly a few years of
practice, I started playing professionally, in bands and solo guitar.
Live playing experience, I believe, is the most important experience
that any musician can have, in that, the most important part of music
is how it sounds, and playing in front of people is the quickest way
to learn how to play effectively. And this is what I teach; how to
be a musician, not just a technician.

*** Lesson Details ***
A student can expect a curriculum tailor-made to their needs and personality. Every person learns differently and this is an important distinction in my teaching style. Some students need a strong hand to keep them working, others need to find many different ways to the same conclusion to keep them focused, while still others need a laid-back friend in order to accept knowledge.

I stress rhythmic literacy, for, as my jazz teacher always said, "rhythm is king." If composition is important to you, then we'll focus on music theory, but if you're just wanting to learn how to play some fun rock tunes with your friends on the weekends, we can do that as well. As I stated before, we'll get you playing in front of people in no time.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide an amplifier, a loner guitar (if needed), staff and/or tablature paper, metronome, pens and paper for the lessons.

*** Specialties ***
Music theory and composition, guitar, bass, lute, beginner to intermediate piano
Classical, shred, blues, and rock guitar; renaissance lute; blues, rock and slap bass; composition of many styles; world music.

Ryan takes his time and tailors my lessons specifically to my level and to the type of music I’d like to play. He covers everything from the basics – like the proper way to hold the pick – to more advanced teachings like music theory. Ryan is flexible, patient, easy going, and he consistently teaches at a pace that I’m comfortable with. He provides take-home practice after every lesson and always has helpful suggestions any time I have questions. What I find incredibly helpful is that at the end of the lesson Ryan will run through the take-home practice on his guitar and let me record it on my phone so it’s easier for me to remember. When I’m ready to practice the next day I just pull up his notes and the video and I’m ready to go!

It’s obvious that Ryan has a passion for music, and it shows in his lessons. I would easily give him my highest recommendation.

About Adrian
A great teacher or mentor or even friend can help shape one's life. I have had the great privilege to have been taught by some of the best and brightest musicians around the world and know first hand how mentors can awe one with infinite possibilities and opportunities that await in the world of sound. I only aim to give back some of this magic, and keep this wonder alive and spreading among everyone.

I have been playing guitar since I was 11 years old, producing music since I was 12 years old and have been actively involved in the recording and live music scenes of Las Vegas since the age of 14. I attended the Las Vegas Academy as a Guitar Major and recently graduated with my Associates of Business degree from CSN. I have a wealth of experience and knowledge that I would absolutely love to share with you.

To learn something, you m

Dan is an amazing teacher. When I came to him first, I barely knew how to hold a guitar. He took me under his wings, and almost ten months later, he transformed my playing where I now actually sound like I'm playing a real song.

He is extremely talented, very gifted, and really really good at teaching. He excels in breaking down a concept, or helping me figure out the right way to play a chord, or a lick. He has also proved that he has an amazing ear, helping me learn a song (that he's never heard before), by breaking it down, and de-constructing it.

I am very happy with him being my teacher, and I look forward to learning a lot from him.

Hi there!

It's not always what you learn, but "HOW" you learn it! My past students have gone off to Majoring in Music Technology, Music Business, Guitar Performance, Songwriting, Film Scoring, and Music Education.

With over 10+ years of teaching experience in both a classroom and privately, let it be in Acoustic or Classical Guitar, Songwriting, Music Engineering/Production, and now Film Scoring, I'll be teaching you everything it takes to blend everything together and start seeing some real applicable results. From working with all age groups, I promise you I can make each lesson as understandable and fun as possible!

I'd love for you to message me with what your goal might be, and I'll make sure to steer you in the right direction!

About Iran
I find myself extremely fortunate being able to combine my experiences and University Degrees in Music Production, Film Scoring, Songwriting and Guitar Education with you all!

The best part of music is that it all connects with itself. Learning the Guitar, then wanting to learn how to write your own songs. But then you ask yourself "Wouldn't it be cool to record it and hear it back?!" And then learning how to edit your music and start adding other elements to it, to make it a more produced song, to then realizing how simple the process can be when it's all done. Again, it's not what you're learning that hooks you back for more, but "HOW" you're learning all this tools.

With experience teaching ALL levels and ages (No, really, ALL ages), I've built a custom way in making every topic interesting, fun, doable, and best of all, applic
able to the real world. I promise you, based on the route and goal you want to achieve, you'll be able to tie it all together and see music from a non intimidating and approachable point of view.

Lessons include, but definitely not limited to:
Music Production: We'll explore how to go about creating music with a computer. Composing, Editing, Mixing.
Film Scoring: Everything from ground zero in how to write music for Film, TV, and Video Games.
Guitar: Learning the instrument, Learning chords, how to improvise, learning the songs you want to learn, some music theory through the guitar.
Songwriting: What makes a song a song? The musical elements, the lyrical motives, and blending it with commercial music patterns.

I am thrilled to be able to pass on as much music knowledge to you all and see where the journey of music takes you on!

Mr. Garcia was one of my teachers in High School at Beach High and is one of the most important instructors I’ve had as a classical guitarist.
He taught me as a beginning player —introducing me to beginner-level pieces, main techniques, warmups and basic music theory knowledge—, as well as an advanced player —superior pieces, being aware of each piece’s dynamics and feeling, more complex music theory and dealing with solo performance anxiety—. Without a doubt, his experience as a teacher will be able to assist any kind of musician, from first-timers to competition participants. He’s patient and knows how to approach any type of issue and help.
He is also a great individual who wants to see you succeeding in whichever area you want to succeed. Some of the lessons he taught me had nothing to do with music but with life, which were, and are, a good source of inspiration.
I recommend Mr. Garcia for any of his classes, he will definitely help you a lot.

I had Mr. Garcia for sound engineering class my last year for high school. I never thought at that point in my high school career a class could interest me as much as his did. The overall ambiance he put out was so welcoming, there where no wrong answers. He accepted all thought. He encouraged us to think about what we wanted and to follow through. He made each and every lesson effortless, going step by step until each person understood. Sound engineering isn't easy. Mr. Garcia made it easy.
