Roz has helped me immensely. She is very knowledgeable in music and voice theory, and has very well thought out constructive criticism. She uses a lot of visualization techniques to help with body and breath control. She is patient and understanding and willing to talk through some theory issues, instead of just drilling lessons. Although most of her students are younger, she really thoughtfully catered her lesson to my needs, instead of just trying to apply the same approach to everyone. I would recommend her highly to anyone and will be sending my son for piano lessons!"

I currently perform over fifty concerts a year with the Asylum Quartet, an award-winning ensemble acclaimed for virtuosity, creativity, and innovation. I have also performed with the Juilliard Orchestra, the U.S. Coast Guard Band, and International Opera Theater. I hold a Master's in Music from The Hartt School and a Bachelor of Music summa cum laude from Arizona St
I have eight years of private teaching experience working with students of all ages and backgrounds. Additionally, I completed a ten-week private teaching mentorship at the Hartt Community Division with saxophone instructor Sheri Brown.
Though I specialize in saxophone, I also love teaching beginning and intermediate piano.
*** Lesson Scheduling***
I offer lessons on a monthly basis (4 lessons total) or semester basis (17 lessons total). Committing to multiple lessons encourages students’ progress and dedication to the instrument, and enables me to reserve a regular time-slot in my schedule.
I do not accept students on a week-to-week basis.
Saxophone students must have an instrument in good repair and required accessories (reeds, mouthpiece, etc.). Piano students must have access to a tuned piano or a keyboard with touch-sensitivity. I am happy to recommend instrument and accessory brands; please check with me before a major purchase. Quality, working equipment is critical to students’ success.
I periodically request that students purchase books and other lesson materials.
IMPORTANT: If you are planning to buy a saxophone or mouthpiece, please consult with me first. Having a good quality saxophone and mouthpiece is essential to your success. There are a number of cheap saxophones and mouthpieces readily available, but they are often of poor quality. I can recommend options for your first saxophone or mouthpiece purchase that may be more expensive, but will help you succeed in the long term.

Learning guitar should be interesting and fun! While we're studying all the different aspects of the instrument, you'll also be learning how to play your favorite songs and solos! I approach each student as an individual and structure their lessons according to what I determine they need, as well as what they are interested in musically. I concentrate on many different areas; ear training, theory, playing technique, improvisation, various styles of music, and, the physics of the guitar. Understanding how the instrument works is important in my opinion. My long term goal
I have been teaching and performing for over a decade both in the US, and in England. I have played in various bands and have produced independent artists. I have worked for a recording studio and for various academic institutions including the Filomen M. D'Agostino Greenberg Music School in New York city.
I obtained my degree from Purchase College in New York and am a member of their Conservatory of Music.
*** Lesson Details ***
I construct lessons for each individual student depending on their musical tastes, goals, and current skill level etc. I want each person to get as much from their time studying with me as possible. Within three to six months, I'll have you working on timing, theory, ear training, improv, and songs/styles of music you may be interested in. I'm laid back, however, I expect at least the minimum practice time between lessons, which I'll change throughout the course of our time together depending on your skill level etc. Practice materials I draw up are included. I write out everything in plain English and do not require the use of sheet music!
*** Studio Equipment ***
Small recording studio, piano, various guitars, bass, and amps.
*** Travel Equipment ***
guitar, bass, laptop, digital recorder.
*** Specialties ***
I concentrate on ear training, improvisation, and explore styles ranging from pop, alternative, rock, prog, and blues, to metal, funk, and folk etc. I do not require sight reading skills for any level of student. Rather, I work with the student with theory and arrangement conventions to really understand the music. This intern, greatly sharpens their musical ear and helps them to learn music much faster because they understand how it is put together; why and how it works, etc.
***Teaching Special Needs***
I have experience teaching students who have been visually impaired,
blind, hearing impaired, or who have had mild learning disabilities. I
am also comfortable with a student bringing their service dog or
therapy dog to our lessons if they wish.

Cameron is great at tailoring the lessons to my musical taste without compromising the theory, basics and fundamentals.
I have been taking lessons for one year and will not go elsewhere anytime soon. His vast musical knowledge helps merge the theory with concrete examples. No question remains unanswered.
I've been taking bass lessons from Cameron for a few months now. He's a great instructor. Very knowledgeable, very patient, and puts in time outside our lessons to be prepared to teach or play new material that I am interested in. I always look forward to my lessons. If you're looking for a good bass or guitar teacher (not sure what else he might teach) Cameron is your guy!

Tom began teaching in 1994 and still practices today instructing students of all ages on guitar and bass techniques, as well as music theory.
Tom is very laid back and embraces working at the pace that each of his students feels most comfortable. Lessons are about the student’s ambitions. If it is learning their favorite songs or a deep dive into music theory, jazz improvisation or songwriting it can be covered in strides that seem fit to the st

We look forward to the growth we know our daughter will achieve in the coming year working with Will.
I am currently earning a masters degree in viola performance at The Hartt School, with separate emphases in music theory, conducting, and strings pedagogy.
In the past year, I was a teaching artist at the Incredible Children's Art Network in Santa Barbara, where I was exposed to many teaching methods and techniques, among them the El Sistema method of strings pedagogy. I was also a musical mentor at Santa Barbara Strings, where I led string sectionals, and coached chamber music groups.
Teaching is a great opportunity to get to know a young artist. My primary goal as a teacher h

If you're in the market for a guitar, you've likely seen "beginner" models and packages offered. But are they worth it? Find out in this guest post by Austin, TX teacher Samuel B... Recently some of my beginner students have requested shopping tips for more advanced models of guitars. Though my familiarity with standard models for various genres is considerable, I don't train aspiring musicians to master one specific genre. Although jazz sounds best when played on a hollow-bodied el … Read More
