About Moataz
I am a Freelance Graphic Designer living in Stamford, Connecticut. I love learning and teaching, like a lot. I teach languages, Lettering, branding, and the basics of Graphic design as well as the adobe programs that bring it to life.

My promise to you is that I will teach you everything I know in the time I'm given and provide you with all sorts of outside resources to get you on your way to fluency and proficiency.

I'll make sure to do my absolute best to get you speaking a new language from day one, learning a Design program immediately, or teaching you how to letter with the rules they don't teach you in school. And best of all, I'll even show you how to actually make money with all of these.

I have a very unique journey into learning where I experienced many places and got a fresh and different understanding to the many su
bjects that I teach. For example my knowledge of multiple languages and travel to different countries gave me an added knowledge of linguistics that I experienced first hand and confirmed in books, so now I know how languages work, and can relate a concept from one language to another even if the languages seem completely different.

My Design work has been very general so I've done a lot of different things before I specialized in hand lettering, so I've done it all from advertisements on billboards to website design and development, to copywriting, to branding from start to finish for companies big and small.

My love for lettering and Calligraphy emerged when I started getting more Logos for client work and my exploration of type wasn't the best answer most of the time so I would letter everything myself, and the rest is history.

I am really passionate about learning and even more passionate about sharing what I've learned. I am efficient, I know what works for different people since I taught in classrooms and tutored way before I knew about Takelessons, and I'm most proud of being praised as a very genuine person. A very common compliment I get is that I sincerely want my students to do well. And it makes me really happy every time someone says it, and I hope that one day you see that and tell me the same thing.

Feel free to find out more about me and ask me anything you want, and I really look forward to one day teach you something that will get you to achieve your goals! :)

Just so there are no surprises, I raise my prices very slightly every 3 months, next time it will go up is on March 3rd 2017. The reason for this is because I get better and more efficient at teaching as time goes by, so that hour that you get now is much more packed with value than the same hour last year or last month.

First time using an Arabic tutor. Our son felt comfortable and thought his tutor used some interesting techniques for reading Arabic. The tutor was prepared and able to jump right in to help complete language activity.

Although beginning my professional life in the Information Technology industry for nearly 10 years with a degree in Computer Science, for the past 8 years I have been working as a professional photographer shooting everything from Portraiture to large scale commercial projects.

Photographing people however, has always been my passion. My work has been featured in many national photography competitions, as well as being published in magazines including Lucky, InStyle and Westchester Magazine.

I also facilitate and teach photography workshops on a variety of topics for beginners all the way through advanced artists. My photo studio also provides mentoring services to up and coming photographers to help focus their artistic vision and keep their technical skills razor sharp.

I'm also available for computer tutoring as well to improv
e your technology skills and get you comfortable with the latest hardware and software applications.

About Ana
I am a Graphic Designer with a full time job teaching Photoshop and Photography in high school.
After receiving many requests from amateur and professional photographers, as well as aspiring graphic designers, willing to learn the unlimited creative possibilities that Photoshop has to offer, I decided to join Takelessons and become a weekend teacher here.
If you would like to learn how to create literally anything your imagination leads you to, or just use techniques to obtain an effect you have seen somewhere, you came to the right place.
You can discover the secrets of professional photo retouching or dive in the surrealism of advanced photo manipulation, Each lesson will be customized to your specific needs.
On the other hand, if you are just getting started in Photography, Photoshop or Graphic Design, you have likely tried tho
se You Tube videos and gave up in frustration, as most of these videos are too fast or too advanced.
No worries, we can go through the basics at your own pace, until you feel comfortable with using the tools on your own.
The sky is the limit.

Note: in order to book classes for advanced techniques, students must have the necessary basic and intermediate proficiency levels.
If you are not sure what your level of proficiency is, please check with me and we can figure it out together.

Attention: many hours of extensive work go into creating comprehensive student-specific learning content for each individual student at beginner level.
When booking a lesson, bear in mind that your teacher will be working on developing these materials after the lesson has ended.
I will do everything in my power to develop, complete and send these materials out to you during the same weekend*.
With that in mind, please plan for taking lessons on a Saturday.
Sunday students will most likely not be able to benefit from same-weekend newly developed learning content.

About Mark Onewolf
I began photographing family events at the age of 8 years old. I was always fascinated with how things work and the camera was no exception.
I learned to shoot with Film cameras. First with my Dad's Pentax and when I was employed I purchased my own. During my time in the Navy and Army I became good friends with a combat photographer who mentored me in photography. Long deployments were perfect to cultivate my skills and there was no shortage of people places and things to photograph.
So what makes me a good Instructor? My education background is Avionics and Electronics Engineering. I am a math and logic minded person which enables me to reverse engineer processes and break them down. I have experience teaching ESL to foreign exchange students which often requires me to understand the task from the perspective of the client so tha
t I am able to help them understand in the way they learn.
I come from a Artistic family, Music, Art, Dance, Singing etc and being a musician myself I am not just a 1's and 0 person. Photography is a very logical subject not unlike music. There are rules to bent and offers structure yet has a creative release for those of us seeking that.
My clients find that I am patient and laid back and able to explain things in multiple ways until they get that ah ha moment. I am passionate about photography and I hope my enthusiasm is contagious.
As a Professional photographer I see so many bad photos from family and friends and others posting on social media and in forums. Someone took the time to show me and feed my passion so I want to do the same and help to create better photographers and hopefully better photographs.

Mark has taught me a lot of lessons in photography. Very knowledgeable in a broad range of disciplines (i.e. long exposures, head shots, weddings, street, editing, portraiture, product, and more). Covering so many categories of photography I feel gives him the ability to answer many questions that a specialized niche photographer would lack. I am a photographer and I get paid gigs, that's how good Mark is. I received my ROI 100x over. Highly recommended.

Just had a photography lesson with Mark last night. He was great. He explained everything in a clear and concise manner that I could easily understand. He also listened to what I wanted to topics that I wanted to learn and tailored his presentation to cover those topics. Thanks, Dan.

Mark was great. Articulate, clear, and made everything easily understandable. A first lesson should definitely be two hours and I look forward to many more lessons.

About Damian
On to the boring stuff! :) I have experience with JavaScript, Ruby on Rails, React.js, HTML, CSS, C++, Windows OS, Computer Science, and lots of Math. I studied aerospace engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where I spent way too much time staring at complicated mathematical problems and solving them by hand and through computer programming. I was in the top tenth of my class and was invited to all the honors societies available to me of which I chose to join the Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society. In the end, I chose to drop aerospace in pursuit of software engineering in which I currently stand.

I like to do a variety of things in my free time. I enjoy hiking and exploring new trails with amazing views. I love music so I play the drums and recently picked up the ukulele. I'm an avid reader and learner of new things. I'm cons
tantly trying to learn and improve myself every single day.

Hola! That's the extent of my Spanish. Good think I'm not here to teach Spanish, ha! Anyway, I have worked as a Front End Web Developer since 2006 and have designed and coded WordPress powered websites since 2004.

I pretty much learned WordPress on my own by messing around in the code (theme files) and in the backend (where you post articles and such). I continue to learn WordPress much the same way. I have freelanced on and off since 2006 and now freelance full time since 2014 after leaving Adobe where I was a front end developer for facebook applications.

As a freelance WordPress front end developer (and occasional designer), I not only build, customize, install, update, WordPress websites for clients, I also do so for my personal projects. And since I like to keep busy, I always have a personal project (on and offline)!

When I am
not a WordPress tutor, consultant and developer, I am a writer. I also started to learn how to cook various things. And I love to travel. That's me in Bruges, Belgium last year in my profile picture.
