As my piano student, you will learn so much! I do not work from traditional "cookie cutter" methods; each lesson is customized to take advantage of your own unique interests and abilities. Even if you are just starting out, you will quickly move beyond basic note reading to mastering popular sheet music by your favorite artists in your favorite genres. You will also have the opportunity to explore vocal accompaniment, improvisation, and/or playing the real piano parts along with recordings of your favorite songs. I hold a B.M. degree from Berklee College of Music and I have been teaching piano and performing throughout southern New England for more than three decades. I look forward to helping you achieve your musical goals and dreams on the piano!

Stan is very knowledgeable about singing, and he teaches more than just voice lessons. It seems like he looks for the best in you as an artist, and try to take it to another level. I'm a new student of his, and it's been great so far. Looking forward to the weekly lessons.

Stan is obviously both knowledgeable and talented but he is also a very good teacher and will tailor your lessons not only to your ability but also to your own personal goals

I have been teaching piano to a wide variety of ages at several different levels for over eight years. I have a wholistic approach to learning classical piano, incorporating theory and music history into my teaching style. Because my degree is in piano, voice, and chorale conducting, I have a unique opportunity to relate several different ideas to the piano.

About Hannah

I am a classically trained professional pianist with a music degree from Wake Forest University. I have played the piano since I was seven years old and have been teaching for over eight years.I have won several competitions and awards for piano performance. Hannah was a wonderful teacher. She was patient with my daughter very organized and took time to explain difficult concepts to my daughter. She not only cared about the piano playing but she also cared about my daughters health ,the way she sat at the piano her neck and hand alignment. Hannah has a very holistic approach to Piano and I’m very thankful for the time she was with my daughter. Hannah left an impression on my daughter because five years later she still talks about Hannah.

I teach the very beginner to the very advanced levels. combining piano technique with music theory and some history and analysis of western music so the student will understand what he's doing and be able to interpret in the right style of the music he's playing.

About Berthe

My name is Berthe ( pronounced Bert). At the age of 4, I began taking piano lessons. By age 8, I was performing for the first time at the Assembly Hall of the American University of Beirut. In 1978, I attended the Faculty of Music of the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik/Lebanon, where I compl

I'm a professional composer and Berklee graduate, but the piano is not my main instrument. I was trying to teach myself on piano, and it was not working. I was practicing but was not progressing. I needed a clear method and someone who knew how to teach proper technique. Berthe provided a strong methodology and showed me all of the subtle technique fixes I needed to get my playing up to speed. I've had many "ah-ha" moments when taking lessons from Berthe. She plays beautifully and teaches in a way that only very experienced teachers can. I highly recommend her for learning to play baroque, classical/contemporary, and romantic music with the bonus of receiving a deeper understanding of the history and theory behind the music.

I have been playing piano for over 60 years and Berthe is the best teacher I ever had. She teaches how to play beautiful pieces with the proper technique with patience and encouragement, while ensuring you are playing correctly. When you get it right she is lavish with her praise. I love to practice and look forward to the lesson every week.
Megan
I really enjoyed my first lesson with Berthe. She was able to assess my skill level and deficits very quickly, and we got right to work. She was patient and cheerful, but I felt like we covered A LOT of ground already. I learned a ton in just my first hour. I'm looking forward to the rest of my lessons.

"Gabrielius is a brilliant teacher who cares very much about his students. He has taught my son piano for over 4 1/2 years and in that time has helped him to reach beyond what he thought he could do. He is very thoughtful and dedicated in finding the right techniques and repertoire to challenge my son and allow him to grow. His ability to connect with his students is exceptional, so much so that we moved from Virginia in order to be closer for lessons. What my son has liked best is that Gabrielius has taught him to hear and think about music in a new way."

He is also very attentive and meticulous in terms of not just how I sound like, but the overall artistic meaning behind each sound I create. He'd told me that "The sky is the limit". "I'm a first time piano student at a ripe golden age that thought I wouldn't have to learn to read notes...haha! I was apprehensive about taking piano lessons at this stage of life. Lana is the best...she is patient, challenging, supportive, and makes learning fun. She starts you off with songs you enjoy playing and builds to a variety. I've only been playing for a short time and I already have a great mix of popular songs and now moving into classical. She even made learning notes fun with an app she found. You learn and play at your own pace. I've seen her interact with young and old and am impressed with her aptitude of working with each person at their unique skill level. I love learning piano from Lana and I would recommend her to people and children of all ages."

How to Improve Your Left Hand When Playing Piano

“Why won’t this hand work?” is something every piano teacher has heard students  say in exasperation. The left hand is often a source of deep frustration for pianists for two main reasons:  1.) Roughly 90% of the world is right-handed. Are you one of them? 2.) Piano music tends to be right hand oriented. Unless you are naturally a “southpaw,” you will, as a matter of fact, struggle more  with your left hand. However, there is hope!  First, it bears exploring some caveats t …
