I have many unique experiences as a woodwind player and a wide range of skills that I’m happy to pass onto my students! In particular, I believe that in order to perform it’s necessary to fully understand your instrument and I do not accept “pseudo-explanations” of what proper technique is or should be. I can help you learn anything you want about the saxophone by presenting information in a personal and easily digestible way. This is done through practice as well as fun activities such as engaged listening and controlled experimentation!

About Noah

Noah Vece graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2011 and has been an active freelance musician in the Atlanta and New York area ever since. Noah studied saxophone, flute, and clarinet with renowned artists such as Sam Skelton, Dan Higgins, and Tony Carere among many others. His experience pl

Music is so much more than organized notes written on a piece of paper. Music is a beautiful language and powerful phenomenon that should be felt, experienced, and shared daily. I want every student to believe and feel that playing the flute is fun and worth sharing with others! I have been playing the flute for 16 years, have nearly a decade of performance experience, and have experience in private flute instruction. I specialize in teaching beginner flute students, and as your teacher, it is my primary goal to not only help you learn how to produce a lovely sound on your instrument and read music but to encourage a deeper love and appreciation for the music itself that goes beyond the classroom. As you learn to breathe life into your flute and play songs, you will also be building a solid foundation in note reading, music theory, sight-reading, proper technique, and more! All ages are welcome, and lessons will be customized and catered to meet your individual needs and goals. ...

About Katie

Hello! Music is my delight and passion, and it has been a significant source of both joy and healing in my life. I began my flute journey in 6th grade and making music has been the bliss bringing me to life and making me smile ever since. With each lesson, it is my primary goal to instill that sam

Katie is a wonderful instructor due to her patience and diligence. She takes her time when explaining and gives valuable instructions and advice. I would highly recommend her as an instructor.

Katie is one of the most patient and willing individuals I know when it comes to teaching others no matter the subject. She has taught how to read music with uncanny ease. She is teaching herself (and her mother) how to play the Ukulele by note reading. Her flute renderings are fun and soothing to listen to. She never stops working on her knowledge and understanding of music.

Katie Miller has a wonderful personality, she has a natural ability for teaching. I have dyslexia and trying to learn how to read music has been challenging for me. She has been able to break down music theory with the use of color and other examples that has helped me understand this concept. I’m enjoying learning how to read music.

I teach flute students at all levels. I use tuners and metronomes extensively to train students to play in tune and in time. I like for students to play duets. It is imperative for students who play wind instruments to learn to interact musically with other wind players.

About John

I have over thirty years of experience playing and teaching clarinet saxophone and flute. I work with digital tuners and metronomes every day to assure that students learn to play in tune and in time. I adjust and maintain all my instruments and can detect problems with instruments immediately. If

Kareem is a wonderful teacher. He is very present during the lessons and clearly brings a wealth of teaching and playing experience, along with a love of music, to the table. He has an easy manner with students - I really appreciate this as my daughter was hesitant to take private lessons but she is enjoying them very much. Thank you Kareem!

""I took flute for two years, in high school. Didn't touch it, again, until age 65.
I was blessed to find Katrina King to help me learn flute, again. Now I'm playing in a band, for senior players. She is a competent/knowledgable, kind, and encouraging teacher. I have great respect and love for her as a teacher, and a friend.
I would highly recommend Katrina, at what ever level a flutist is.
Playing the flute brings me great joy, as I see steady growth. I'm always learning something new.""

"I took lessons with Frannie for more than ten years, starting at age 4 in an introduction to music class at the Brooklyn Music School. Through her I found not just a great love for music but a lens through which I discovered and learned about the world. With Frannie, once a week for nearly my entire childhood, I would learn to practice and work at a piece or phrase, or to interpret and have and opinion on music I played, or to play like I mean every note, and so on endlessly. Those skills were some of the earliest and most important lessons I had about how to live and enjoy my life, and art, and how to work hard, and care about what I do for my own sake and no one else's. And I don't believe just any teacher could have done that for me. Since moving on I have often felt a different excitement and deep understanding of music than many of the peers I met who have spent far more time than me studying music.

I'm still a musician. I graduated recently from Bard College with a degree in music and have since played onstage in a very successful off-broadway musical. I've played in many orchestras including with graduate & conservatory students at Bard, with the New York Youth Symphony Orchestra, and at LaGuardia High School (formerly Music & Art). I have moved on to other instruments, and forms of music, but I credit Frances not just for showing me how much I love music but for teaching me in many ways how to enjoy and get what I want from life. I can't recommend her enough."
