Cello Lessons in Stafford Springs. Amazing Teachers.

I am a fourth year cello performance major at the University of Georgia and have been playing the cello for over eleven years. I have experience performing and practicing in a variety of ensembles and genres (i.e. orchestras, chamber ensembles, jazz, rock/jam bands, bluegrass, pop). I plan to incorporate music theory and ear training into lessons to help my students become more familiar with their instruments and repertoire. I want to encourage innovation and creativity in each of my students so that they can feel comfortable approaching any musical opportunity.

Cello has brought me all over the world! I've play in pit orchestras for musical theater and in classical chamber orchestras, recorded on folk records and electronic albums, performed in Indian music festivals and the Montreux Jazz festival! Lessons with me will be rooted in an understanding of the instrument that can be applied to any genre.

Experienced Cello teacher available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of music knowledge. I specialize Suzuki Method and Traditional Method depending on the students needs. I push to evolve with each student and create a fun a positive environment in which to learn and I strive to help you meet your goals! I plan and offer yearly professional student shows and concerts to give each student a practical application to their studies.

While I certainly place emphasis on technical work and mastery, I also want all students to feel comfortable in expressing their individual voice and interests. I believe that it is incredibly important to encourage students to explore a number of creative avenues within music. Therefore, I am very open to having students explore music outside the classical canon in addition to experimenting with improvisation and composition. An additional component of my teaching style is finding unique and interesting ways to keep students motivated and teaching them how to effectively practice and learn on their own.

As a cellist with 20 years of playing experience, I am a passionate cellist of many orchestras around the US and an even more passionate teacher. I enjoy helping students of all ages and levels!

I am currently a Doctoral candidate at The Juilliard School. I have been teaching students range from 7 years-old to people who are in their 70s. Helping students from different back ground, age group, and levels of playing has been very rewarding. I help my students preparing for their recitals, competitions, all state exams, or simply learning a new piece of music. I believe in tailoring teaching to each student's needs.
