Tamika is very knowledgeable and professional. What I like most about her is how honest she is about your work and progress because that is difficult to find in a acting teacher.

I worked with Tamika to get help with improving my voice and presence. She is very professional and fun to work with. She listens to what you need help with and finds different ways to bring out the best in you. I would definitely recommend her as a teacher.

Tamika is such a great instructor. She helped me break out of my comfort zone and worked with me to schedule lessons around my work schedule. I only got to be her student for a short period of time because school started back up, however, I would DEFINITELY recommend her to anyone who is interested in taking lessons with her. She will bring out the actress/actor in you you never knew was there!

If outside my travel area, you must book at least a 2 hour lesson.

I'm a designer with extensive experience that you won't find elsewhere. I am not a simple sewing teacher- I customize all my lesson plans, prepare our projects to be of most benefit to your specific goals, and have a unique set of skills that the average sewing teacher doesn't. I don't compromise on my rates as I provide an extreme amount of value for what I offer. My resources and tips alone are great ways of to make you excel at your project goal
s a lot more quickly than with anyone else. I believe in a holistic approach to tackling your projects- not just isolating one way of accomplishing it.

I am a former Fashion Institute of Technology (F.I.T.) Professor, teaching sewing and fashion art, and in the fashion industry for over 16 years. I have worked at Target Stores, Federated Dept. stores, and Alexander McQueen, and have a very close working knowledge of industry standards and needs. I currently work as a costumer in Hollywood on films and television creating costumes for the stars. I facilitate students and fashion companies in the following areas:

-Sewing
-Patternmaking
-Illustration (computer or-hand-rendered)
- Fashion Portfolio Preparation.
- Hand Embroidery (I DO NOT operate Embroidery Machines)

- Consulting on how to produce your own clothing/accessories collection.
- Consulting on how to source and produce your Domestic and Overseas collection.
- How to create line sheets.
- How to create technical packets.
- How to create digital art for screenprinting.

OTHER:
-Computer Assistance for BEGINNERS- Learning to use the Computer, Basic Skills in MS Office, using the Web. etc.

REQUIREMENTS:
1.) You will have to have all your materials and most of your tools: sewing machine, computer with all installed programs or services, patternmaking tools and paper, fabrics, etc. I will bring some small materials to our first session to explain what tools to purchase.

2.) You must make yourself available for one 15 minute phone consult before scheduling your first lesson- please plan to do this at least one week to 2 days before you want to schedule your first lesson. We will discuss your lesson goals, and what materials to buy. You do need to allow time to purchase your materials, so please plan ahead. When you purchase your lessons, please email me a time and date (or several) to schedule this phone call.

3.) IMPORTANT:
Please schedule directly with me VIA EMAIL. I do have my general availability listed on schedule for everyday, However, I work with many students and teach classes that might not be reflected in this schedule. I will try my best to honor the time you request, but I cannot guarantee it. About Hasaan
I have obtained a degree in Menswear Design and Marketing from Fashion Institute of Technology and a degree in Applied Science Visual Communications from Katharine Gibbs School. I’ve taught garment construction, sketching and CAD design classes (Adobe Suite) for five years and have over 17 years of experience in the fashion industry. I have taught these skills to adolescents and adults in various programs including: Day and evening classes in afterschool s, summer programs
As a teacher, my main goal is to motivate students to do their best and extend their own personal limits. I devise programs, according to syllabus requirements, that expand on previous knowledge and encourage students to explore new and interesting possibilities. I encourage students to construct their own learning in an environment that stimulates and helps student
s to realize their full potential. I have had some excellent results with students who have a history of poor performance.

I had a tight time schedule to finish a summer project before I went in for surgery and Hasaan was very sensitive to that. He was able to teach me new skills in pattern making and cutting that made the process easier/ more accurate as well as sewing techniques. I would say my experience with him was very positive and he was always cheerful and and in a great mood and helped me out a lot with my project. I would definitely recommend using him for lessons.

Hasaan Roselle has taught and directed our summer camp program, Camp Fashion Design for four years now. His passion for fashion is clearly evident as he steps our campers through the basics of sketching and fashion construction. Girls are intrigued and motivated as he shares with them his knowledge of fashion and his many years of experience in the industry. Moreover, his easy going personality and his attention to every detail make him a wonderful choice for a fashion design instructor. We have found him to be patient, caring and considerate with our students as they learn the intricate ins and outs of this sometimes overwhelming industry. Not only is he encouraging, he also allows students to step 'outside of the box' and to explore new ideas instead of always following the conventional path. We like that a lot. This is how the next generation of new, young designers is created! We highly recommend his services and we look forward to him joining us once again next summer at Camp Fashion Design!

My daughter, Valerie, is 7 years old and has had two lessons so far with Sarah. Not only does Valerie love the lessons and looks forward to them, but I love the way Sarah talks to her and is caring and compassionate. She explains the exercises so well, praises Valerie when she does well, and gently corrects her when she misses the mark. Sarah communicates with me regarding Valerie's lesson and it is very easy to schedule lessons as well. I would highly recommend Sarah as voice coach for younger students as well as older ones!

About Yali
I received a Master of Design in Fashion, Body and Garment at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) and a Bachelor in Art History at the University of Havana, Cuba. I’m a multidisciplinary designer that blurs the line between fashion and visual arts. I launched in 2009 a project titled “Normal Is Good” centered in the development of clothing collections with presentations in Havana, Cuba; Paris, France; Liverpool, England and Miami, Chicago, NY, US.

Once I moved to New York I participated in an internship at Victor de Souza Company and I was quickly hired for the position of Production Manager and began assisting Mr. De Souza in executing and coordinating fashion shows.

As an artist and designer I feel more inclined towards education than working in the fashion industry. I feel great joy teaching and this would be a wonderf
ul opportunity for me to share my knowledge. The lessons are customized to your needs. I will only cover the subject that you are interested in, and are relevant to achieving your goals. Even if your goals are not that clear I can help you to discover what is it that you want.

Sometimes I have been approached by people who, although they do not want to pursue a career in fashion or art, want advice on how customize their image. I can help you to express your individuality and embrace your freedom.

As a designer I have also collaborated producing the costume designs for plays like: "Post-Plástica", Museo del Barrio, NY (2012) and "Schwanze-Beast", Vermont Performance Lab, Vermont (2015).

In 2015 I released the film-documentary, "Normal Is Good (I like America and America likes me)" at Gene Siskel Film Center, Chicago. "All the things she says" is my most recent solo exhibition at Galería de la Biblioteca Pública Rubén Martínez Villena, Havana, Cuba (2017). I was selected as part of 2017 NYFA Immigrant Artist Mentoring Program for Performing and Literary Arts, New York Foundations for the Arts, NY, US.

My knowledge of art and design and my international perspective, are elements that enrich my approach to education.

Yali is a WONDERFUL Spanish teacher. She teaches my 13-year-old daughter in such an engaging way that my daughter insists on *not* taking Spanish at school but instead learning solely with Yali (and also when she's experiencing full immersion in a Spanish-speaking country). The fact that Yali is from Cuba and a magical fashionista is a super fun added bonus.
