I have been teaching Suzuki for 18 years and use other books as well
I always add books in my lessons that the student wants to play.
Their favorite band or classical piece.
I am a person where no matter the age you can learn music!
I have taught from 4 years old to 60.

I want to serve as a supportive and instructional figure that helps cultivate an appreciation of music for all students. In order to do this, I believe it's important to prioritize personal student progress rather than subscribe to a fixed game plan. That being said I take on a relaxed adaptive teaching style that tailors to the student. It's my hope that all students feel comfortable working and discussing music topics with me as I believe thoughtful conversations, whether straightforward or abstract, is an essential learning technique.

I am an experienced teacher of 16 years! I thrive on finding each student's specific learning style and cultivating a positive and productive learning experience within that. I apply consistent and focused energy in getting my students to strive for their best, and I aim to inspire them to respond in turn with the same focused and accurate effort.

I teach using a modified Suzuki method. This means that, while I do subscribe to Suzuki's "mother tongue" approach, I also believe that education on an instrument requires literacy from a young age. I have discovered in my years of teaching that an early ability to read notes and understand musical theory and form is not a handicap to a student's development, but rather a benefit to the student gaining a richer, fuller understanding of their instrument and music in general.

Unlike many instructors who simply use the same cookie-cutter method in their teaching, I believe in adapting to each individual student for consistent progress. By meeting them "where they are," focusing on their learning style, and developing a systematic approach to fixing bad habits and eliminating weaknesses in their playing, every single one of my students achieves musical growth, command of the instrument, and an overarching love of music.

My two decades of professional experience both as performer and instructor allows me to draw on multiple methods, exercises, and repertoire that will help you develop your full potential while always enjoying your musical journey.
