About Dale
Dale R. B. is a certified teacher, musician, conductor, clinician, and composer from Stratford, Connecticut. He is currently accepting new students and teaching private lessons in piano, guitar, percussion, and composition for students of all ages in both Hartford and New Haven counties.

Dale received his Master of Science in Music Education degree from the University of Bridgeport in May of 2017 and his Bachelor of Arts in Percussion degree from the University of Connecticut in May of 2012. In his studies, he has taken advanced courses in music pedagogy, composition, orchestration, conduc
ting, educational psychology, and methods in wind, brass, and percussion. He has 15 years experience in percussion, 17 years experience in guitar, and 24 years experience in piano. Dale's teachers include Grammy award-winning percussionist Haruka Fujii (Silk Road Ensemble), American Symphony Orchestra percussionist Javier Diaz, and twice Grammy-nominated orchestral composer Kenneth Fuchs.

Dale once held a freelance instrumental composer for Ear Goo Inc. in New York City, Here Dale wrote multi-genre works for film, television, promotional trailers, and advertisements. His vast clientele included household names such as Universal Studios, Paramount Pictures, MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, Sony, Revlon, and Coca-Cola. Dale is currently represented by Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), a world-renowned performing rights organization that also represents artists such as Eminem, Shakira, and Maroon 5. His original music for marching band was performed on a weekly basis during the 2012 competitive season in USSBA Class III competitions around Connecticut by the Trojan Marching Band at Lyman Hall High School, where he once held a position as their percussion instructor.

As a clinician, Dale has been asked on an annual basis to judge timpani, mallet percussion, and snare drum at several Regional and All-State Music Festivals around the state since 2009. He has also given presentations on the importance of installing/maintaining a music and arts curriculum in the Connecticut public school system as well as the history and proper care of mallet percussion instruments.

As a performing musician, Dale has appeared in several venues across the state, most recently at the storied Shubert Theater in New Haven, which hosted the world premiere of Dale's "Les Reves de Jeunesse Oubliée," an original piano solo that was well-received. He hosted his first Composition Recital on April 3, 2012 at the Von Der Mehden Recital Hall, where Dale showcased six live, original works, including a piano solo, a euphonium solo, a woodwind sextet, and a percussion quartet. Dale has played in live productions and musicals with both the Connecticut Repertory Theater and the Church of the Resurrection Youth Group, while winning numerous awards for his musicianship, including Lyman Hall’s “Outstanding Musician Award” for three consecutive years. Among numerous charitable events he has partaken in, Dale performed selected works by marimbist Daniel Berg on the piano as part of the Hamden Academy’s annual canned food drive, where together they raised over 500 cans of food for those without homes. Outside of music, Dale’s interests include baseball, video games, creative writing, jogging, and the ocean.

As a private teacher, Dale strives to ignite a passion for classical and instrumental music regardless of the instrument, and firmly believes that the art of making music is both satisfying and rewarding for both the short and the long-term. Because there are so many different types and genres out there, he knows that music is something every person can enjoy regardless of their differences, and so his ultimate goal for each and every pupil is to inspire and cultivate a newfound appreciation for the musical world.

For the price, you or your child will receive a top-ranking, master music teacher who has dedicated his entire professional life to studying his craft.

The first thing I do when I meet a student is to interview the student and find out why they want to learn how to play the guitar and what are some of their goals. Then I find out what style of music they would like to learn. I have the student come up with ten songs they would like to learn. I take this information and structure future guitar lessons around the essential elements of these songs. I design each lesson to teach the specific skills required to learn those songs. I create an organized binder guitar workbook and having a teaching degree I create all of the lessons to meet each students individual needs that include lessons on theory, technique, chords, rhythm, scales, arpeggios, songs, song form, and exercises etc. I use a color coded method to teach scales, chords and theory that I created that help students not only understand scales but also they are able to see visually where chords come from. I break down each song into easy digestible parts so students can learn a ...

About David
Hi my name is David and I love and enjoy teaching guitar lessons to students of all ages and I come to your home for lessons. My goal in life is to enrich people's lives with music. The first thing I do is interview the student and find out why they want to play the guitar and what are some of their goals. Then I find out what style of music they would like to learn. I have the student come up with ten songs they would like to learn. I take this information and structure future guitar lessons around the essential elements of these songs. I design each lesson to teach the specific skills requir
ed to learn those songs. I create an organized custom guitar lesson workbook for each of my students at no cost to the student or parent. This way, my students have a weekly organized practice routine and they become successful. Having a teaching degree, (B.A. Music - Conservatory of Music - Concentration: Studio Composition / Master's in Education - M.A.T. / Adolescence Education (Grades 5-12) 3.56 GPA).

I create all of the guitar lessons to meet each students individual needs that include lessons on theory, technique, rhythm, chords, scales, riffs, arpeggio's, songs, and exercises etc. I break down songs into easy digestible parts so students can learn a song in a logical and most manageable way. I use a color coded method to teach that I created that help students not only learn and understand scales and chords but also they are able to see visually how scales and chords are created. I currently teach private guitar lessons and have worked for 12 years in our local schools as a teacher with students K through 12. For 2 years, from 2012 to 2014 I taught an after-school enrichment guitar and songwriting class. I created the curriculum and music workbook specifically for 6 and 7-year old children whom I taught at Pequenakonck Elementary School in North Salem, NY. In College I won an award for the most Improved Studio Composition Student at Purchase College. I incorporate lessons that I have learned in the classroom as a teacher to help my guitar students learn. I feel the most important thing for my students to learn about music is to have a lot of fun.

If you are just starting out with the guitar, I am your 'gal'! I make learning the basics of the strings, the tuning, and the music really fun! but as with learning any new language or instrument, the follow up requisite practice and purchase/download of recommended supplementary materials is totally up to you, the student. If you practice what I show you in each lesson every day, you will notice progress!

About Tamari
Hi, there! My name is Tamar; I'm called Tamari, informally, and Tamara for the stage, and I can't wait to meet you!

I've been teaching private lessons for many, many years and have loved helping my students acquire new skills, master new pieces, and prepare for concerts and performances. Over the years, my younger students have earned Blue and Gold ratings at the Young Musicians' Festival in Fairfield U., some of them earning gold cups: This is a statewide event to encourage long-term commitment to the art, discipline and joy of music making.
I went to Indiana University's Jacob School
of Music and earned a Masters in Piano Performance, and Composition in the '90's. I sang all types of vocal music as well as prepared singers with vocal coaching and voice development techniques 20+ years.
I'm fun loving, patient, and optimistic-- these traits carry through in my teaching style,
One Size does NOT fit all--I approach the lesson plans for each student tailored to your learning style.
Over the past 23 years, my life experiences have encompassed other disciplines and compelled me to learn and acquire many other skills: my liberal arts as well as fine arts education lent itself to helping me work administrative jobs and even expanded into sales and public speaking. I have coached after school and SAT preparation to High School and College age students, helped with the preparation of legal and analytical documents, creative writing and editing assignments; and even tutored computer, social media and Microsoft Office & iWork Suite of applications to older adults.

I look forward to helping you reach your goals
