I took 5 lessons with Ed, very great instructor. I learned a lot in those few lessons. He helped with with my pitch and with my accent that I had to prepare for an audition. With his help I was accepted into my high school’s A cappella group “Madrigals” and overall I would recommend. We made it work and tried to make the best out of the situation. Great experience:)

My kids thoroughly enjoyed lessons with Ed (both guitar and piano). Lessons started with my 7yo and when his brother turned 4yo, he started as well.

There are several aspects to performance that I can help a guitarist with. The chief one is solo performance and improvisation which I have taught many students even kids in school bands who need to improvise in the jazz band and don't know how. Another aspect is how to use a guitar amp properly at higher show/concert volumes as far as tone settings and use of effects. Makes a huge difference when you know the insider "secrets". So you can even bring your amp for an "amp lesson".

About Peter

*** Specialties *** I teach all styles and all ages but my specialty is in electric rock music and applied music theory as in guitar soloing and improvisation as well as song crafting. I can teach a student any song requested by looking it up on you tube if you don't have it and immediately tra

From age seven, I have performed piano at concerts and piano competitions, playing solo, in small groups or with orchestra. Studying piano performance at the School for Talented Children for eleven years and later at music conservatory, I was groomed to perform piano on stage. In short, I have the personal experience that I apply to teaching piano performance. Specifically, I teach my students how to memorize music pieces, how to develop proper phrasing and how to convey emotion and beauty of a particular piece to the audience. I also help students who want to obtain certificates from Associated Board of Royal School of Music (ABRSM) or Trinity College London (TCL) to excel in these examinations.

About Ruth

I have played piano since I was six years old, when my parents enrolled me in my first music classes. I continued my music education while going to elementary, middle, and high school. Ultimately, I graduated with a Master's Degree in Music from Butler University, located in Indianapolis, Indiana

Ruth has been a wonderful teacher for my 12 year old son Vivek for the last 3 years in Princeton. She made learning piano a truly enjoyable experience for him and always teaches with patience and kindness. We are planning to move overseas and hope to switch to online lessons so he can continue to learn from Ms Ruth!

I have been with Ruth for about 4 months but I am very happy to say that her dedication and attention to detail has given me the impetus to want to keep learning encouraged by her thorough experience. She is a great teacher.

I offer my students 3 recitals a year in some very nice halls around New York, where they would get a chance to perform their music in front of an audience of friends and family.

Performing is a great way to see as a student what you do well and what you can improve in. Each performance gains a level of experience that can not be gain by just playing for yourself. Through this experience you will learn what it takes to get better as a musician.

About Dr. Jason

Dr. Jason Thomas is a wonderful person who loves teaching and has been doing so since he was a teenager. Jason is a graduate of Manhattan School of Music (MSM) where he received both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Classical Piano Performance. He is currently finishing his Doctoral studies

Dee is patiently teaching both my son and daughter, and fostering their love for playing music. My hat is off to her, for accomplishing an already challenging task with young kids, while doing so virtually!

I am loving working with Dee! She is so understanding and gentle with me, while still keeping things moving, and ensuring that we are making progress. After just a few lessons, I feel confident working my way around my instrument, have developed a solid practice strategy, and am already building my repertoire, thanks to her guidance. I am so excited to continue studying the mandolin with her!

"Tom is an amazing music instructor! My review won’t even scratch the surface of explaining what a fantastic teacher he is! Tom has taught our 4 children since 2008 when they started at School of Rock (SOR). When Tom left SOR and started giving private lessons, we left SOR because we saw the value Tom gave our children. He does a great job of challenging his students, yet keeping it interesting for them. (He's still teaching our kids after 6 years; they never get bored with his lessons and look forward to them every week!) Tom also does a fantastic job of blending music theory into everything he teaches. Our oldest child has a passion for music, and is now studying music at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Tom played a huge part in our son getting into Berklee and giving him the skills he needs to succeed while there. I recommend Tom to any level of student. He is simply the best!"

"THE. BEST. PERIOD.

Ms. Chau is a parent's dream! She is soft spoken, incredibly kind, patient, and talented. My daughter is shy and sensitive, but Ms. Chau had her laughing and playing with confidence from the from the first lesson! I HIGHLY recommend this instructor for first timers like us as she is truly a gem. She makes learning notes, rhythm, and rests so easy."

"I have had the pleasure of playing in very complex musical collaborations with Suzan G. a couple of times recently and am thrilled to find out that she is a teacher with Takelessons. I am a TL music teacher, and having seen her live and in person and discussed the theory of the music we are performing, I can highly recommend her.

Suzan is thoroughly knowledgable about music theory and composition and movement. Her piano skills are excellent especially when seen in the arena of jazz improve composition on the fly with a group of professionals. She can sight read complicated charts and sing beautifully at the same time, for songs she has never done, and these are the challenges that true musicians thrive upon.

As a TL teacher of children also, I can see that Suzan is very family friendly and cheerful, kind and helpful. All good signs of an excellent teacher! Your Kids will love her.

Way to go, Suzan, and keep up the great work!"

"I played in the Advent Band with Vandi as our worship leader for several years. Her energy and enthusiasm was contagious and she always provided positive, constructive criticism. Vandi's knowledge of music theory was demonstrated in her ability to arrange our songs to suit the various skill levels of the band members and the congregation! This is not an easy task and she handled it with ease and grace. I would highly recommend her as an instructor."

"Rick is a fantastic improv and just overall music teacher. As a professional guitar player I have found Rick's deep understanding of both music and the art of teaching to prove most valuable. His methodical approach taught me not only what kind of notes to choose from, but how to use my ear to decide how I want to play. I would highly recommend Rick's method for any instrument at any level!"

"I've rehearsed and performed with Vandi Enzor in a chamber setting per the requirements of her graduate voice degree. I accompanied her on guitar as she sang; the specific piece was the Seven Popular Spanish songs by the great Spanish composer Manuel de Falla. Vandi is professional, patient, hard working, receptive, and musical. Her great command of her instrument is evident, and more than that she has genuine joy in what she does. Collaborating with her was a pleasure, and I can't recommend her enough for musical instruction. A true professional."
