Learn to play one of the most recognizable instruments in the orchestra. The flute plays beautiful melodies and embellishments to add to the mood of many pieces. I can teach you how to have a good tone, how to keep your embuchure strong, and how to keep your hands from cramping up. I will use scales, breathing drills, and support training to allow you to reach your goals. I can take you as far as playing in a mid grade orchestra, and intermediate solo pieces.

Playing the flute has given me so much joy, and it is my dream to pass that joy along to others. Music lessons can offer you so much more than a new skill or getting better at an instrument; they can improve your mental health, your confidence, and even help kids do better in school! Good music teachers teach their students how to find beauty in everything, to think more critically, and to see mistakes as opportunities for growth. These three ideas are at the core of my teaching philosophy. In all my lessons, beginner to advanced, students learn how to make beautiful music, sight reading, basic music theory, and safe practice strategies. We work out of the Rubank method book, but I also utilize handwritten exercises. I also always encourage my students to bring music they want to learn!
Absolute Beginners: In our very first lesson, students learn the parts of the flute and how to make a sound. We learn about flute care, and how to correctly hold the flute. Basic music theory is ...

I started playing clarinet in the school band at age six. My father was a musician, and he thought that playing in the school band would help me overcome my extreme shyness. I remember my first music lesson. I really liked my teacher. He came to my house, and he helped me to care for my clarine
