There are a number of reasons someone may wish to take music lessons. Whatever the specific reason, striving to achieve one’s “artistic truth” is the goal. My holistic view of education is to help a student find his/her own individual “voice” as a singer and a creative artist. I believe the role of an educator is not to relay information in a detached context, what I call teaching “at” a student, but to lead that student in a discussion of the music, pulling information from the student in a collaborative effort between two or more individuals. It is my goal to facilitate an emotionally safe environment for students to take risks, make mistakes, listen critically, and articulate his/her thoughts. Rehabilitation of vocally injured students with clinical training techniques to manage fatigue, constriction, loss of head or chest range, intonation, nasality, tremolo/wobbly vibrato to be able to project their voice in a healthy manner. Hi I'm Meghan! I'm a professional singer and vocal coach who has performed and taught professionally all over the country. I will provide detailed and constructive feedback on your vocal technique. I will break down the mechanics of singing in way that is both fun and easy to understand. I am experienced in multiple vocal styles, including Pop, Broadway, Jazz, Country, Classical and more! I will help you sound amazing on all of your favorite songs.

In our lesson, we will focus on the three pillars of singing: Alignment, breathing, and relaxation. We will work on vocal technique through simple exercises. I have exercises for people of all vocal ranges, types and levels. I adapt my lessons to fit your specific needs.

We will select songs for you that are both fun and a perfect fit for your voice! I will accompany you on piano as you sing. If needed, I will record piano tracks for you to practice in between lessons.

Our voice is such a unique instrument, because it is inside of us. It makes the act of singing amazing and hard at the same time, because we all have different instruments and there is no general rule that works for everyone in the same way. When I teach, I always take into consideration the uniqueness of the voice I am working with, and this requires a great deal of attention and sensitivity. I am very passionate about teaching and my goal is to share my passion and my knowledge, in order to acquire the tools to develop that beautiful instrument that our voice is!

Singing is joy and my approach uses positive physical, psychological and emotional feedback to unlock the potential a free voice can realize. The exercises are clear and accessible and they lead to gains in power, clarity and range. After earning my teaching degree (in high school math of all things) I embarked on a 30-year career that took me all over the world. However, it was not until I discovered the work of W. Stephen Smith that I truly began to see the true possibilities of my voice. I want to give to students what I never had all those years - a reliable technique and a way to give voice to all the beauty of the music we want to share with the world.
