Born in the Midwest, I spent seven graduate years in Paris performing, teaching, and researching. I have come to see music lessons as both a personal process of body awareness and harnessing mental energy, and as an interpersonal process of exploring the dynamic between student and teacher. To beginners: anyone at any age can learn basic organ skills if they devote ten minutes a day to it. To intermediate players: my goal is to train you to be your own primary teacher. To advanced students: I can give you artistic colors for the palette and tools for the journey.
About Laura

I teach both baroque and modern technique on a tracker action instrument, which is then applicable to modern instruments. My teaching style is rooted in developing a technique that is centered, focused, and free. Beginning organ students should have reached an intermediate level of piano performance and be tall enough to sit comfortably on a lowered organ bench with feet touching the pedals without flexing.
About Mark
I am an active performer eager to teach organ, piano, voice, and provide collaborative keyboard accompaniment to vocalists. I teach youth and adults. Private lessons are given at my church in Worcester or online through the TakeLessons platform. I also teach in-home piano lessons. My students have

Hello, potential organ student. Are you ready to learn one of the most fascinating (and complicated) instruments in the world? There is a lot more to the organ than most think. Lessons on the organ will cover technique, repertoire, and a little about classical organ improvisation, an almost lost art these days. Feel free to ask me any questions you might have about lessons, availability, or just the organ in general. Talk to you soon!
About Kyle
Hello potential students! I have a B.A. in instrumental music education and composition. I have taught private lessons for over 12 years. Teaching private music lessons is my primary job, so I have much experience and wisdom compared to teachers who teach "on the side." Students of all ages stay wi

I'm excited about practicing and my future accomplishments with Ron's expert and encouraging ways of teaching."

I previously played the organ but had stopped for many years. She helped me get back into playing and provided new theory techniques that I had never learned previously.
I personally do prefer in-home lessons vs on-line. If there is a time in the future for in-home lessons to re-open I will definitely reach out Laurel to continue my lessons."

There are many reasons why a music student may find themselves learning to play piano on a keyboard rather than on a baby grand: cost, space, or simply lack of access, for example. Versatility on a range of keyboard instruments is also an extremely useful string for any pianist to have to their bow, and can lead to greater practice and public performance opportunities, and even excellent opportunities to earn a little money on the side. The organ, although not the most prevalent or popular musi …
