Mickey is an incredible teacher who has helped me grow immensely as a musician through their personalized and encouraging approach. Mickey met me exactly where I was at when I first started lessons and has known throughout our time together exactly where I need to be challenged and where I need extra support which has helped me better understand my own progress as a learner. I had been taking lessons with Mickey for a year in-person when we switched to virtual and the quality and attention to detail Mickey provides in our lessons has not been affected in the least. Mickey is a patient and engaging teacher and I can not recommend taking lessons with Mickey enough!

Mickey is awesome! We only got the opportunity to do one in-person class before we had to go virtual, and she adopted very well and very quickly to that format. When I expressed frustration at how difficult it felt for me to learn certain things, she would quickly adjust her method or way of teaching that particular skill, or slow it down a bit and break it down more, so I was able to look at things from a different angle and more easily understand them. For me that's huge because I can get down on myself really easily if I don't pick something up quickly. I truly can't recommend her enough.

Great Experience

From the first lesson, Andrew has been a consummate professional. Each lesson he brings in something new, while making sure that everything we've covered in the past is still ingrained through repetition. Having Andrew as an instructor has opened my eyes to the many facets of drumming, and I have taken skills/techniques with me that will last forever. The feedback does not stop after each lesson, Andrew is available all the time for any questions I may have during the week if I am stumped while practicing. His schedule is flexible with mine, and he is willing to bring in music that I want to personally learn. I took around 15 lessons for bass guitar with James and really enjoyed it. James was able to tailor the experience for what I wanted, which was heavy on music theory, but still made sure we applied the theory to the instrument. I had prior experience with some music theory and playing, but hadn't touched my bass in almost 10 years. James was able to figure out exactly where to pick up, provided great materials, and kept me engaged. James is very knowledgeable, a great player, and a cool cat.

To the extent of what I learned in my experience, Andrew is a great percussion teacher for students looking to join a band or marching band. He obviously had a great amount of knowledge and experience with the instrument itself but also the teaching of it. By the end of the first lesson we had already moved to patterns with 8 strikes on each hand and was presented with an arsenal of other exercises for afterwards to find a rate of improvement when given time. He is a very patient teacher and is sensitive to mistakes and which ones to focus on. I could safely recommend him to any of my friends who are also into percussion, and can speak from experience that any nervousness of getting a new teacher quickly dissolves after the first lesson. Great teacher.
