Welcome to my Guitar, Bass Lesson, and Clarinet page. I can provide you with professional, quality, and affordable lessons. I'm very passionate about music, the guitar and bass, and love teaching! I am a Masters Degreed Educator who has been teaching for over 20+ years. I can provide you with lessons on proper technique, music theory, chords, scales, songwriting, and more. I currently teach with Guitar Center/Music Arts in the local area but I am looking for more students to fill out my schedule.

My lessons give you an immediate sense of accomplishment. Learning fundamentals of guitar, music and technique are important, but so is having fun. I strive to help every student have fun while learning and to set achievable goals for each lesson. I don’t just teach you how to play the guitar - I show you how to find your inner musical voice and how to cultivate it along with improvement of your technical ability so that you may enjoy the personal self-expression that learning the guitar can offer you.

I started playing acoustic guitar when I was seven years old. I have been playing and teaching mostly bluegrass, old time, Irish, blues, and swing jazz styles for many years. I have taught both privately and have also done various workshops at festivals. I have taught guitar multiple years for instance at the Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival in PA.
My students learn to have fun with music. Students can work on rhythms, melodies, improvisation, song writing, getting into and/or hanging on in a jam session, etc.

Want to play your favorite songs? Want to write your own? While focusing primarily on technique and theory, we'll also spend at least part of each lesson being creative together, whether improvising, or writing something, or just playing a game, because I believe that to be a well-rounded musician is to know how to communicate one's own ideas fluently. We'll also explore a variety of styles, including rock, country, pop, folk, and jazz, and we will learn songs both using a pick and using the fingers. I can also teach students to actually read music and not just tablature, if they're interested in exploring jazz and classical music. Message me today to see if we'd be a good match!
