My students have spanned every age, experience level, and walk of life through the years... Some wanted to join a band, some wanted to go on to music school, some were aspiring songwriters, and others were simply interested in an awesome hobby! I've been teaching acoustic guitar for over 13 years and teach a mix of playing technique, music theory, ear training, as well as working on songs and styles of playing that the student is interested in. Along with my teaching experience, I have plenty of stage and studio experience as well which allows me to bring those things to the table. More real world and less dry and academic you might say...
STUDYING WITH ME: Learning guitar should be interesting and fun! While we're studying all the different aspects of the instrument, you'll also be learning how to play your favorite songs and solos! I approach each student as an individual and structure their lessons according to what I determine

Bass guitar can be a lonely instrument to practice on your own. I use instruction books that come with a CD to play along with to simulate real playing with a drummer and band instruments. This prepares a student to learn songs of their choice and be able to perform with others.
*** Specialties *** I teach all styles and all ages but my specialty is in electric rock music and applied music theory as in guitar soloing and improvisation as well as song crafting. I can teach a student any song requested by looking it up on you tube if you don't have it and immediately tra

The only reason I stopped seeing him was that my job became very demanding, and I could not devote enough time to practice and justify the time and cost of lessons. But even when I showed up unprepared, he was understanding and flexible to work with me.
If it would have been possible to have Alex come to me, I would have welcomed that.

On the lesson side, he brought a great mix of fundamentals (scales, etc.) and keeping my son really engaged by also teaching him tunes he wanted to learn.
On the logistics side, he was equally perfect: great communicator, never late, personable.
A nice guy, great player/teacher, and professional: I can't recommend him highly enough."
Very knowledgeable and personable.
I felt totally at ease with her from the first lesson.
I could not have made a better choice for beginning instruction,"
My goal was to relearn Modes/Scales, and brush up on theory, so that I could write more complex material. David taught me that, and so much more. Over these few years, I've learned Progressive Rock, Fusion/Jazz, and even some Country styles, as well as a great deal more about Metal and, yes, even Punk from David. I can play leads and solos with much more proficiency, in timing with the rhythm, and more tonally correct, than I ever could before. He has also helped me read music better, construct more professional-sounding compositions, and has started me on my own path to produce my own recordings, from recommending and using recording software, to capturing dynamics with mic placement, to mixing the rough takes to get the most out of the sound.
For a musician of any level or caliber, having an instructor like David is a true asset--for he has the knowledge and skills to take an entry-level musician every step of the way to becoming a professional performer, recorder, mixer, engineer, and producer. The only limit to the lesson's potential is your own level of determination, which David quite expertly helps you to improve with every session. Even if your goal is to simply learn to play one song on one instrument--and David teaches MANY instruments--he will have you playing that song like the musician who wrote it before you realize it--as long as you stick with your practice between lessons. That part's up to you!"
The piano was invented over 300 years ago. Since then there have been some insanely difficult pieces written for the instrument, particularly from the 19th century onward. The most common choice for “most difficult piece” is probably the third etude from Grandes études de Paganini, S. 141, “La campanella,” written by Franz Liszt in 1851. The dexterity and accuracy required to play it seems, to most observers, to be almost otherworldly. A YouTuber named Rousseau made a video that s …

Did you know that teaching others is one of the best ways to learn piano -- as well as continue learning, if you're at an advanced level? Here, St. Augustine, FL teacher Heather L. shares what it takes to teach... Being a piano teacher can be tremendously rewarding and fulfilling. The art of guiding a student on a journey of learning is one that comes naturally to some, but can certainly be learned by others who have the right skills. The phrase "piano teacher" brings to mind d …

With so much music in the world to play, how do you figure out how to practice guitar? Guitar teacher Jack C. breaks it down to the basics... One of the most common questions I'm asked by students, whether they are total beginners, or seasoned veterans who have been playing for more than ten years, is: "How exactly should I practice guitar in order to get the most benefit from my time?" As my explanation, I always like to break down guitar knowledge in three basic categories. 1. Techni …
