Snare Drum instruction....I normally use the Standard of Excellence method books for many of my students; however, I am open minded to adjusting to each individual student's musical needs, whether it be Jazz, Classical, or whatever style music the student is focusing on. Other excellent methods are the Ed Sueta Book, Rubank Method, Breeze Easy, Achievement in Excellence, and perhaps the First Division Method Book. For Drummers, I prefer the Haskell Harr Method, or the Buddy Rich Method Book, as well as the Breeze Easy Method. I always play my instrument along with the student so that he/she can hear how the music is supposed to be played in regards to the notes as well as the rhythm! This way, we all have fun learning!

Drumming is almost entirely muscle memory. I believe that anyone who wants to play drums, can play drums. I have systems implemented in my own practice routine that allow me to become a more precise, tasteful, and musical drummer. I can work with whatever skill level you are at. I teach timing, groove, rudiments, applying rudiments behind the drum set, theory, musicality behind the drum set, limb independence, odd timing, polyrythms, and much more. Thank you, I hope to hear from you!

"My son's reaction after one lesson: Charles is awesome!
I whole-heartedly agree! He jumped right in, asked some great questions and quickly deduced Jonathan's skill level.
He was able to give him something tough enough to really challenge Jonathan, but still within his range to be able to do..

Great!"

"My son (just turned 5) recently started playing drums. Max has done an awesome job teaching him remotely via FaceTime. Admittedly, my son gets distracted during some of their sessions, but Max is great at working with him on simple patterns and techniques to help him learn the basics. Max us even gives us things to work on with our son by ourselves to make sure he keeps learning. Overall, I've been surprised how well remote lessons worked, and as long as my son is having fun we'll keep doing it!"
