I'm a professional singer, composer, and arranger with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Jazz Vocal Performance. I've toured throughout the United States and several countries in Asia.
I teach all ages and welcome beginners. My lessons are customized and catered to the needs and goals of each student. My students can work on vocal techniques and improvisation (e.g., scat singing, melody changing, etc.) over their favorite songs. If they would like, I can help my students build a solid foundation in music theory, composition, and arranging.
I've taught older students who have a passion for jazz and also younger students who are exploring the many wonderful aspects of this music.
Above anything else, I'd like to make sure my students are having fun and expressing their love for singing!

I have been a professional singer and actor for over 20 years. Throughout my career, I coached my fellow professionals on the techniques I have developed to improve my vocal quality, projection, range, and stamina - in all those years I have only missed one 45 minute set due to vocal fatigue. I’ve coached musical theatre performers, actors who want to add “singing” to their resume, professional singers, beginners (both children and adults) and everything in between.
About Julia
I'm a passionate professional vocalist and a fourth generation music educator. With 20+ years of professional performing, coaching and teaching experience under my belt, I emphasize rhythm and musicality alongside technique and note reading. I always set myself the goal of learning what makes a mus

Cosima is professional & cares about her students progress! I had gave up on singing, she was my last attempt. My vocal ability has grown so much with her instruction. My passion for singing has grown even more since she has taught me how to sing and use my vocals properly. I have been making steady progress since the beginning. I look forward to our lessons, I love to sing! I feel that's its never too late to start singing, I believe she can help anyone become a singer! Thanks Cosima!"

Popular Singing Articles from our Blog
Learning how to sing well takes time, practice, and patience. While it may come naturally to some singers, most will need to put in some solid work to improve their skills. Read on as Saint Paul, MN teacher Justin S. offers his advice... "How long does it take to become a better singer?" she asks, desperation grasping at her already fatigued vocal cords. I know that this is my chance to be a beacon of hope, a voice savior, if only I can find the right words to inspire her... "As long …
