Shannon has worked with me for years, as my nutrition/fitness/strength trainer and my private music instructor! I love her! She is so patient, kind and knowledgeable. She cares and only wants to help me be better at everything I do! And she is always there to help even between sessions. She's all in!

Sharon takes time to listen to you and cares about you as a person as much as a student.
She has been knowledgeable on any instrument I have done lessons on (flute, clarinet, alto sax, cello, and violin).

Shannon has been my triathlon coach and conditioning trainer for 3 years and I couldn't be more pleased. My racing times continue to improve, as I continue to aim for longer races. I just completed my first Half Ironman (70.3 miles)! I have never been injured in her care. She really knows what she's doing.

As a French student, I can tell that Concetta is perfectly adapting to my way of learning. I know music for a long time but I'm a beginner with viola. I thought it would be a very hard exercise to practice but with Concetta's advices, I constantly and rapidly improve my technique. Five stars is the minimum I can give !

Concetta is a wonderful instructor - prior to my lesson I was feeling nervous - not sure what to expect, not feeling worthy, etc. - she quickly put me at ease and we had a very productive 1st lesson - well worth the investment of my time and money

I haven’t ever enjoyed a music lesson as much as I do with Concetta.
Concetta is warm, charismatic, and truly loves what she does which inspires me to keep going.
It’s the hour that I look forward to the most each week!

This far he is a very knowledgeable and professional person. Unfortunately we found that my cello was lacking due to defects in build and so now I have to get a replacement which I am hoping does not hinder our lessons. He has been very helpful with getting me sites to get material and tools necessary for our sessions. Look forward to our next session and moving forward.

I've completed about 1 year of lessons with Carolyn, and my experience has been exceptional.

Carolyn is insightful and encouraging. She knows when to offer critical feedback and when to offer positive feedback based on her student's temperament. She also paces progress based on the student's aptitude, too.

I'd recommend Carolyn for any beginning string musician without any hesitation.

The best review I can give is that this morning after the lesson, unbidden, she picked up her cello and practiced for the few minutes she had between breakfast and leaving for the bus. That is inspiration. What could be better that that?!"

As an adult beginner, I appreciate how patient he is and he explains technique/fundamentals in a way I can understan. I definitely feel challenged, and I leave each lesson wanting to practice for the next lesson. He’s also provided a lot of guidance for purchasing a cello and bow. Awesome experience so far."

What is the Suzuki Cello Method?

The Suzuki method, founded in 1945 by violinist Shinichi Suzuki as the Talent Education Movement, is one of the most enduring teaching methods, or pedagogies for young string players. Suzuki’s main goal for his music education system was to give students a “noble spirit,” which would instill respect and cooperation through his method. The method was brought to America in the 1960s by John D. Kendall, and today the Suzuki Association of the Americas instructs new teachers and studen …

What Does it Take to Become a Professional Cello Player?

Pursuing a career in music is a risky decision, because by the nature of the industry few artists can “make it big.” Most artists aren’t pop stars, or even full-time career musicians, and all musicians also teach to remedy this. There are many paths to becoming a professional cello player, and depending on where you start it might be easy or hard to earn a reputation and start making money. I followed an academic path, studying classical music at university and then continuing my research …

The string family has a unique history, and a very unique look.
