As a music teacher for over 10 years, I want to help you to reach your musical goals. Weather it is to read music, play by ear or learn about chord structure. I want my students to truly enjoy playing piano. I believe the learning process is just as important as the final product.

About Jane
My goal of teaching is to help students discover their talent and love for music in a natural way. I began jamming music with my parents when I was 3 years old. I remember the feeling of joy and excitement when making music with them. Now as a teacher, I try to bring this enjoyment based approach to classes and teach my students to not think they are working and instead, enjoy the practice of making music. I believe that when a student is inspired and enjoys the learning process, they naturally strive to get better.

As I began playing piano at a very young age, I've developed an ability called absolute pitch. It is a rare auditory phenomenon that enabled me to play nearly any song I heard, without having a score. And this really help me to teach my students the songs they love as scores are not always readily available and I am abl
e to write out a customized score that suits their level.

My students will have covered different areas of music, including classical repertoire, jazz, rock, pop, composition and theory. I give private lessons for all ages and levels for piano in my technology integrated home studio in Briarcliff Manor, NY. I received my degree from Berklee College of Music and New York University. I'm also certified with the associated board of the Royal school of music and Trinity College of Music in London.

Studio equipment:
Grand piano, full size electric keyboard, violin, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, amps, accordion, microphone, music computer games, recording and composing software, seating area for parents.

Experienced music teacher of 10 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation.

About Abe
I've always had a love for music. I've been teaching music in the classroom and privately for 10 years. I have a Master's Degree in Music Education and am a Level 2 James Hill Ukulele Initiative certified teacher.

I'm a father 4, and have been married for 12 years.

I teach guitar, piano, bass, and singing, but my real passion is the ukulele. I believe it's the best instrument for beginners and can really stand well on it's own, unlike the traditional thought of ukulele being a toy.

When I teach, I put the student first and always make the students goals my own. I push for more, but always gently encourage to build off of successes to achieve mastery.

Learning an instrument can be a difficult task, and it takes time and dedication. It's also tremendously rewarding, and the most important thing that I want my students to gai
n is a fun experience improving and creating music.

Abe is patient and offers a lot of encouragement. He sees the improvement in me and always keeps me focused on what I'm getting right. Still, he keeps pushing without letting me become self-satisfied. I tried to learn guitar some years ago, but got nowhere and gave up. I'm really glad that I found Abe, an accomplished musician, and a very talented teacher. I'm amazed at my progress, and I owe alot to him. He's excellent.

I will be using the Suzuki method to teach my students. With this method, the students imitate what I am playing until they can play the pieces by themselves. It is a great way to begin to learn piano! I will also teach the students how to read music with a separate book (Dandelot), and we will dedicate at least five to ten minutes of our lesson to go over the sight-reading.
In addition to the Suzuki method, the students will have a chance to work on their technique with a set of books that range in their level.
We will have two recitals during the year: one in December, and the other in May. In between these recitals there will be small group "play-ins" where the students will have a chance to play their pieces in front of each other in order to get used to playing for an audience. These are not mandatory, but heavily encouraged.
Let's get playing!

About Carolina
Hello!

My name is Carolina, but you can call me Lina. I have been playing the piano for 13 years, and it is my passion. My High School didn't have a music program, so I had to take private lessons to enrich my music learning. My piano teacher was my biggest inspiration and the reason why I chose to become a teacher myself. I graduated from Manhattanville College with a Master's in Music Education. While I was in college, my piano skills were polished until I became the musician I am today. The beauty about learning any instrument is that there is no exact finish line. You will always be learning something new, especially when it comes to the piano. There will always be a new challenge, whether it's a new piece you want to learn, or a different technique, it's all up to you. My role as your piano teacher is to facilitate your learning a
nd adjust to what works well for you as a student. I look forward to meeting you and helping you create music :)
