He will improve the students technique and creativity while introducing diverse styles of music. Students will implement the use of the rudiments and see how they might be applied to beats or fills on the drum set. Linear patterns and four way coordination patterns will be applied for developing good coordination skills and ambidextrous discipline in advanced players. Beginners will learn to grasp a feel of straight quarter, eighth and sixteenth note beats. I am thrilled to hear that you or your kid is ready to start taking drum lessons! I have been teaching drum set and percussion for eleven years, and last year finished my master's in percussion performance at CU, after a music education degree in Michigan.

I start students off with "repeat after me" style exercises to develop technique, coordination, and musical tone on the instruments. Then, we can dig into playing the music (s)he loves! I'm always curious to hear if there is a certain band or drummer my student admires?

Hey everyone! My name is Bobby, I'm a 30-year-old Salt Lake native. I studied at Westminster College and have a minor in Orchestral percussion.

I've been teaching for over 7 years both young and old students and I'm looking to teach beginner/intermediate drum students.

I focus on teaching students to learn how to read drum music, drum kit, beats, fills, songs, and rudiments.

I began playing drums/percussion at the age of 10 and have been playing for over 20 years. I love playing and teaching all types of styles of music, especially jazz, rock, funk, Latin, and country. Within the first few lessons, I will provide you with tips on technique, how to practice, and how to listen to music in a new way. You will be grooving in no time!

Drum lessons are unique with me because of my background with all percussion makes lessons flexible and fun. I tailor my lessons to the students wants and desires while also building their technical skill in all areas of percussion so they can play everything while excelling at what they enjoy the most. This makes a very fun and educational experience.
